Reviews of The Fire House Stove Shoppe
"If you want to spend $5,000 on a new wood stove insert for your fireplace and NOT get a couple simple technical questions answered by the owner, The Firehouse Stove Shoppe on 125 in Epping, New Hampshire is the place to spend your money. I purchased a Vermont Casting wood burning insert from them a had my chimney "sweep" contractor of 25 years install it which took about three hours without any fanfare or issues. Two questions came up for me after the installation that my installation guy said I should ask either Vermont Casting or The dealer, Firehouse Stove Shoppe. Fair enough and honest enough. On Monday I called the Stove Shoppe and asked to speak to a technician but was told that only the owner of the Shoppe answered customer questions. I was told a message would be left for the owner to call me. Three days later, on Wednesday, no phone call from the owner. I called Wednesday and actually spoke to the saleswoman who sold me the insert and she told me that the only way to get the owner to answer a question was to send him an email. She gave me his email address and I sent off the two questions to him. It is now Monday morning a full week after initially calling the stove and still no response from the owner of the Stove Shoppe in Epping, NH. I guess making the sale and getting my $5,000 was more important than simply answering my two technical questions. Sad and very disappointing. If I knew then when I bought the fireplace insert that getting questions answered is not a priority for the owner of the Firehouse Stove Shoppe In Epping, NH., I would have gone somewhere else to spend my retirement money at age 71. To state the obvious, I would not recommend the Firehouse Shove Shoppe in Epping, NH for your wood burning and heating needs."
"Our 20 yr old gas fireplace insert has not worked properly since moving in 3 years ago. The flame wouldn’t light all the way through the burner, the flames were small, no heat but a lot of soot. We had it serviced multiple times by prior owners company and they couldn’t fix it. Told us to have our gas company look at it. Not fixed. 100’s of dollars later, we went to the firehouse stove shoppe thinking we’d just replace it. Adam suggested servicing it and so glad we did. Levi identified a partially converted natural gas to propane problem and some other things and we now have a properly working fireplace, just in time for fall. Thank you Levi and Adam for your outstanding service!"
"As a new homeowner that has never had a stove I had questions and concerns. The office staff sent out the owner himself to take a look and it was determined that the stove and pipe in place did not meet standards. My wife and I were helped by the sales staff pick out a stove in our price range and taught in store the features. Install was a waiting game but the office staff kept us in the loop with delivery delays. The install team were great and stayed very late into the night to make sure the job got done. Casey and Ed were awesome to my kids who asked a million questions while they were here."
"Just purchased a new Regency Hampton pellet stove insert. It was installed Friday. From the get-go it has been nothing but a complete disaster s*** show. I have had the stove now for 4 days. Every time I would bring a problem to the attention of the proprietor of the store where I purchased. He always tried to flip the blame onto me. They installed not me, It just does not work properly now things are breaking once again he says you must have done something wrong this just don't happen. In my opinion right now the only thing I did wrong was handing over $6,000 to this man. Being a senior citizen trying to keep warm at night. Tonight it broke down during business hours he would not accommodate me. Despite having a wife also a senior with underlying health issues. I took out a perfectly good Hammond pellet stove insert that I personally installed 12 years ago never an issue. I replaced it with a regency pellet insert. I am sorry I went to the Firehouse Stove Shoppe in Epping, New Hampshire. Fortunately for me I was able to get the stove running tonight. I went in there bringing problems to their attention, a complete stranger, another customer intervened into my conversation. Turned out he had the same stove I think I can help you he said. He came to my house problem solved. Until today when something else broke. I was told by the proprietor this just doesn't happen. See whatever I say ever I say that has gone wrong they try to flip it back on to me. Obviously this is 100% under warranty but he just does poor warranty work. Once again due diligence pays off which I did not do, shame on me. Before the sale of my new purchase. Their models in the store were missing some parts they explain to me if a customer has a problem we help them out 110% we will take parts off displays to get them up and running. Just tonight I asked them let me take that part for the day to get me going. The owner of the company I cannot do that I will not do that. Once again 75-year-old me and a sick wife sent me home to be cold. Firehouse Stove shoppe, Epping, New Hampshire. It's not just me, look up the reviews... regards Bob."
"Been with them now over 15 years and completely disgusted by today's conversation regarding a new door handle assembly. Every year I have my stove serviced and this year when Jeff's son was here we discussed a new gasket and fix the door hardware and he took the door with him. I get a call a couple weeks later that the door is complete so I drive down to pick it up and nothing was done to it. No biggie I said keep it and the next time they are in my area just drop it off and they agreed. A couple week later I get a call that it's complete and one of the girls came by to drop it off and just the gasket was replaced and the handle wasn't fixed. I called and spoke with Ashley who was amazing and she said she was going to message the company to see if that's covered under warranty. Weeks again go by so I emailed her back with no response so another week or so goes by so I called today. The company doesn't exist anymore and I have a number to call to get a replacement part. I called and confirmed it will fit but I wanted to call firehouse back to confirm my handle will work with this one and got another woman on the phone. I explained that I've been speaking to Ashley and didn't want to go through the long history and she said she remembers me... After explaining my last call with Ashley she became sarcastic and extremely rude to me. I simply was asking questions and nothing but sarcastic responses back. Bottom line is the tech who took my door clearly knew there was an issue and the issue was not fixed, I've been more than patient and then to be treated like this today I'm appalled."
