"I had an almost identical experience to that posted by Lauren Sawyer with my furnace & lack of hot water last winter. I had been Superior Energy to clean my furnace for a few years, prior to the problems I had last winter, after getting referred to them by a friend. After the very pricey bill without the problem being fully resolved, which included the mysterious & ridiculous drive time charges and terrible customer service experience I had (being told when I called back due to still having hot water problems, that I’d again have to pay the $120 per hour drive time charge from the job they’d be coming from 1-2 hrs away, with zero concern that I already paid them to fix the problem. I was told the tech that did the repairs no longer worked for them. No concern or desire to resolve the ongoing problem was expressed to me.) It was winter and cool showers were miserable. My plumber offered to take a look at it for me & discovered the temp control needed to be adjusted, which took him no time at all to do-thank goodness! I am now trying to find another company to service my furnace."
"I called Superior Energy because one of the units in my building was without heat. I specified that I would like to have the contractor reach out to me after evaluating the system before moving forward with installing or updating anything (I knew that I might just need a whole new system all together and didn't want something fixed that it about to be replaced). They moved forward without checking in with me and charged me for a service I didn't consent to. I was told that the manager would call to resolve this but they have yet to. This experience was completely without human consideration or thought. They are a business after your money and nothing more."
"We have used this company to clean our furnace multiple times with no problems. Recently, we had them come out to repair our rinnai heater. The technician was wonderful and did a great job. He came out two different days to get the job done. We were surprised to receive a very high bill for a simple repair. The company charged us for 3 hours of labor one day and then 2 hours on day two. The tech was only at our house for a total of 2 hours for both days together. We have footage on our ring camera of this. They charge $120 an hour for labor. Plus a $20 fuel surcharge. We were not presented with an invoice when the job was done but forced to give payment. When we called the office later about the situation and to request an invoice they told us that they charge for the tech to drive to our house. So that is just $120 an hour of driving plus the fuel surcharge they are charging. I asked why not schedule appointments in the same area then. They didn't have much to say on that. We were very frustrated and were NOT told this when we made the appointment, nor were we ever charged this fee for the tech to drive to us ever before. When we said this to the women on the phone this, they told us they did tell us and that we will have to pay. The customer service was horrible, as both the women working there were yelling at us on the phone saying we had to pay this huge bill and then hung up the phone on us. Later, we connected with the president of the company on the phone and talked to him. He, too, was very rude and had horrible customer service. He promised us a lower bill but we have yet to get any communication from them about any sort of refund. We have tried to call back but they are ignoring our calls and messages. I don't think we will ever get a refund for the money they stole from us. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they are very rude, have no empathy and are disrespectful. Especially during the holiday season. Terrible customer service and unreasonable fees."
