"Two years ago, we first stepped into this restaurant when it was known as Maine St. Steak & Oyster under different ownership. We loved it so much back then that when we found out it was sold and turned into Maine St. Bistro we had to come back and check it out — and I’m so glad we did. Maine St. Bistro gave us an unforgettable dinner experience from the moment we stepped inside. The restaurant is quaint, cozy, and fancy, but not pretentious. It’s quite welcoming. The service was top-notch; our waiter was not only friendly but also attentive. While the menu wasn't extensive, it offered a nice variety – during our visit, it ranged from seafood and pork to chicken and risotto. We started with the baked brie and beef tartare and both were delicious. The brie came with these yummy raisins that were to die for. For two people, it was the perfect appetizer. However, I do wish they hadn’t used the same crostinis for both apps. For our entrees we had the MSB Burger and the fall risotto. The burger was juicy and my partner couldn’t get enough of it. I enjoyed my fall risotto. The presentation was beautiful. My only wish was that the portion had been a bit more generous, especially considering the $26 price tag. To accompany our dinner, we selected a bottle of Argentinian Malbec, and I was happy to see that not all the wine options were astronomically expensive. All in all, an amazing dining experience in Brunswick and we cannot wait to return!"
"Maine Street Bistro did not disappoint. My husband and I shared the beef tartare, which was phenomenal. We also had the ragu with homemade pappardelle pasta (a rotating special), the pork chop, and the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and exceeded our expectations. We also had great service and the overall ambiance was fantastic. What a great addition to the Brunswick restaurant line up. We will be back soon!"
"We live in Brunswick and just had dinner at this new restaurant. We are excited to final have excellent fine dining in the area! The 4 in our party had steak frites, lazy mussels, swordfish, and the pork. We had the baked Brie as an app. Everything was really great! Service was high-end and excellent. Good job, Nick! Highly recommended!"
"I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious and unique lunch at Maine St Bistro! I sat at the counter and had oysters, the strawberry gazpacho on special (yum!), and the garlic panisee. Everything on the menu looked amazing and it was hard to decide what to order. Thank you for having me!"
"If you live within a 90-minute drive of this place you are lucky. And if you don't, you should get in the car and drive it. Every element of every dish was unique and impeccably executed. We Enjoyed and finished every bite of everything we tried, but the most unique standouts were: Escargot toast was like French onion soup on a fork with microgreens and perfectly tender snails. Local hake in a lemon veloute was clean tasting flaky fish with tart and buttery layers of different sauces. Clam croquet wrapped in prosciutto and topped with a tart gel of citrus. Chilled octopus, prepared with a gorgeous bright green chive oil and the most tender light texture. Even the plates, ceramics by a local artist, are gorgeous. Wine pairing advice was on point and the vibe in the room was joyous while the volume was very manageable and we were able to enjoy conversation at our table while feeling like we had found a quiet corner at a delicious party. We are planning a detour through Brunswick just to eat here again . If Google maps gave me an extra star I'd spend it here. Don't miss this place."
