China Rose buffet

"The buffet was decent. I spent about an hour trying most of the dishes available. The dishes were mostly standard American Chinese buffet fare, but there were a few items I don't usually find at buffets, such as mussels (done 2 ways, both cooked), haddock fillets, and pork roast. They also had better dessert options than most other buffets. Overall for the price (16.45 for dinner, 12.45 for lunch) the experience was pretty good, and I would go back."

"My husband and I had not been since covid. Before that we stopped going cause the food was always cold. Well we just went tonight to see if there were any changes and lo and behold the food was cold again. They need to get new chafing dishes or something…. Too bad. Good food just ice cold. I am sure this goes against FDA rules."

"Super friendly staff! Always had a great experience with any and all of the staff I've encountered. Buffet is good, with tons of variety, and they keep up pretty good with replenishment. Like any buffet, your time of dining can influence the quality and quantity, but I've never had a problem and keep coming back for years!"

"DINER BEWARE I don't usually leave reviews so you know this was an experience. We went in to get takeout buffet for my parents because they love this place. When I asked how much a pound I was told it is by container. He proceeds to pull out an maybe 7X7 container which is about 3 inches deep. They wanted $17 for a tiny container of food. The food isn't even that good there. When I said I was all set he started telling me how much cheaper it is by container and how people love it. I started walking out and he is continuing to try to get me to buy. Very pushy and does not like any criticism. I will not set foot in that hole again!"

"I love the black pepper shrimp. I don't think it's on the lunch buffet. I think it's only available as a dinner item. I particularly like the vegetable tempura that's available at lunch. They have an authentic tempura batter that's very light and it compliments the vegetables, which is usually green string beans, sweet potato, broccoli and I believe another one. Their onion rings are fried in the same batter. They're delicious, especially when they first bring them out to the buffet. I love their blue cheese dressing. It's the best I've had anywhere and the only blue cheese dressing that I like. It tastes great with iceberg lettuce.They have a good selection of self-serve ice cream for scooping. I wouldn't recommend getting the buffet for takeout. It's not by weight and the containers are very small. If you fill another container, the price is the same as if you were eating in, so you would be paying for two full buffet meals. You can still order from the menu if you're in a hurry and just want takeout. They have a good selection and the price is reasonable. The vegetable tempura and black pepper shrimp are my favorites."
