"I stayed at a nearby AirBnb for over a month, as I was visiting from Bermuda. While visiting, I frequently bought snacks and toiletries at this store. For the last two weeks of my trip, my mom joined us (my young son and I), and one evening, when she took my son to get snacks (she picked up quite a bit), the man who runs the store shouted out, "we do not take food stamps here!" Being the person my mom is, she still made the purchase, but I was very upset. Here we are, visitors to your country, supporting your business, and this is how you treat us? Because we are black, he automatically assumed we were using food stamps. The man who runs this store is a prejudiced racist."
