Belmont Wheelworks

"I've been a loyal customer of Belmont wheel works for over 5 years. I've bought my headlight, my lock, my bag, my bike rack, among many other things at the store. I've gotten tubes, tires replaced as well as much more and this store has always been a reliable spot for me to go, until today. Belmont has a new company policy that they're not allowed to work on any bikes that they didn't sell and there's no grandfather policy. After getting hit by a car yesterday there was no sympathy from their employees as they turned me and my bike away. An employee told me that it could be mostly repaired with a hex wrench. When I asked exactly how he told me I'm supposed to "turn the wrench to the left". It breaks my heart what little sympathy they gave to a loyal customer after being in an accident. I can never go to this store or recommend it to anyone ever. Edit: I don't expect the owners to reply to this review because I've noticed a theme of them not acknowledging any review that mentions how rude they are. This location has a reputation for giving attitude and shoeing away people who are willing to pay good money for service. I've never experienced such a feeling of contempt from a salesperson before."

"I had an excellent experience at Belmont Wheelworks. The salesperson, Ron, who sold us the bike was super helpful and helped us get the perfect bike. Later there was a minor $ dispute that wasn't Belmont's fault that they rectified quickly. Recommend!"

"I just went to Belmont Wheelworks. They have 3 frameset that I was looking for towards my next build. Drove there, 45 minute drive. There for 20 minutes with no one asking me if I needed help or had any question. There were only 4 other customers in the shop. The 2 sales people were at the small counter by the door watching stage 20 of the Vaulta Espana. Very disappointed"

"The owner, Clint, comes across as a real jerk. I tried to ask when my bike would be ready because they were late getting it back. I can understand them being a few days behind. What I can't understand is why he screamed at me over the phone for simply asking and hung up on me before I could finish my question. Seems like toxic leadership. Everyone else was helpful but only offered a shrug when I told them about my experience with Clint. I will not be giving Wheelworks my business again"

"I'd called the day before to verify inventory of a few bikes I wanted to ride. Later Clint called back but left a detailed message. With that I was confident that I should travel approx. 2 hours to the store. Even though it was a Saturday morning and busy, Nick spent tons of time setting but a bunch of road bikes for me to try. I had come prepared with most of my setup measurements and my pedals (you should too!) so that made things a breeze. Once he got an idea of my preferences he suggested some alternatives at my request. All the other bikes he suggested were spot-on. I ended up purchasing one he suggested rather than the specific one I drove there to see. A couple weeks later, and many rides in, I'm super happy with the choice. While I was there I also grabbed a new helmet. Cat's assistance in this areas was also great. She heard my preferences and was able to quickly find one that met my preferences and fit. 5 stars earned for sure."
