"I went in with the full intention to make a purchase, ie spend money. I wanted a specific club and the sales associate said I wasn’t making good contact with said club when I took 4 swings… with a club I’ve never used before. Then brought me a different option, which I liked but was then told I wasn’t hitting that one well either, after 3 swings. He then brought me a 3rd club to try, the one I was trading in because I don’t like it. I realize I’m a casual golfer of over 30 years, but I didn’t go there for a lesson, I went to purchase a club and spend money. Good staff you got there guys. Two people screwing around behind the register, another two running around looking busy and the Fat Jesus insulting me. Pretty sure I’ve spent my last dollar there."
"We had an issue with an item purchased that was not working. The sales associate spoke to the manager who said he was going to “make it right.” When we went to the store to return the item Assistant Manager Brian was rude, condescending and dismissive. He walked away WHILE we were speaking to him. He made no effort to hear the valid complaint and truly didn’t seem to care to remedy them problem. You can be assured we will NEVER be a customer of Golf Galaxy again due to this one individual."
"Sales people were very knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Assistant manager was rude, cold, and a pretend professional. Went there to purchase irons but ended up buying nothing. Off to Golfers’ Warehouse. On Monday, May 1st, I asked the assistant manager if could use a charger so I could continue to use my app, he said no. Then as I proceeded to attempt to buy a set of Srixon ZX4 Irons, I told him the sales person at the counter on Saturday told me that I should be able to apply two $20 expired rewards if I came back to buy golf clubs, he said no. The Srixon ZX4 irons that the sales person and I thought were 899.99 based on the advertised price (not marked with a sign on the display) were not in stock so we took the clubs off the floor. They rang in at over 1K. I told him that’s not right; he said they’re the newer ZX Mk II model. I had enough of him. I ordered the ZX4 5-AW for $699 at Golfers’s Warehouse ($200 cheaper than advertised by Golf Galaxy)."
"With all due respect shopping for the perfect gift for oneself or the favorite golfer on your list. Reading some of the reviews leads me to some possible insight and opinion, there is so much that is involved when you speak to a Staff member. They are there to help you, there is more to a fitting than hitting a few large buckets on a rainy day or during winter - anyone can rent a facility with a simulator and have some fun. I myself worked at a location and from a selling standpoint saw all types of golfing enthusiasts. Some trying to outdrive their playing partners, some looking for that free sleeve of balls, and some looking for free advice to purchase their shoes and equipment online after “the fit”. So please understand both sides when commenting on why and where someone is coming from when we read into reviews"
"Took my son for a driver fitting. I told teh rep up front that we were there to get a recommendation on all the fitting parameters so we could evaluate and then look around for pricing. That set the tone and it turned into nothing but hitting various clubs, like a demo day, and being told to get help from a professional instructor. I expected to receive information on recommended loft angle, shaft information, grip, etc as advertised. If you let them know you will not be buying that day do not expect a lot of attention."
