Reviews of Cyndi's Dockside Restaurant
"Absolutely the best fish fry I’ve ever had!!"
"Well, having had a lovely experience at Cyndi's a couple of years ago, we brought my son and his partner who were visiting us from Utah down this evening to give them the experience of a lobster dinner. The menu looked strangely barren, nothing at all like the one online. To our chagrin, we found out that the restaurant had been sold and was no longer Cyndi's Dockside but rather "Nonesuch River Brewery." And lobster (which you used to be able to select out of a tank, and which was part of the fun) was nowhere to be found on the menu. They were able to provide me with a lobster roll on special, (with mayonnaise instead of drawn butter sadly,) but it was not terrible. The rest of the food our party ordered was well prepared and tasty, and the portions were abundant, but it was just not what we were expecting. If I were to buy a restaurant, the very first thing I would do is get onto Google Maps and change the name and make sure the menu was up to date, as well as making sure the signage outside reflected the change of ownership. While we had a good meal, the contrast between expectation and reality was stark. Our dinner was just fine, but it wasn't Cyndi's and we're not likely to go back because it's just another brew pub now. Whatever bean counter was in charge of the transition was clearly not thinking the details through."
"The BEST seafood, onion rings and coleslaw I’ve ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection they must clean out their fryers/ oil often. We got the captains platter and it had great portions of everything! Definitely will be back"
"Worth a stop if you're in the area. The burger and the chicken and mashed potatoes were okay (decent, not outstanding). Onion rings were pretty good. The fried shrimp and the cake were really good - we really liked those. Location is nice. We sat at one of the picnic tables and enjoyed sitting outside. Service was great. Friendly and quick to get us anything we asked for (drinks, extra sauce, etc). Good little selection of alcoholic drinks. Several beers on tap and several different mixed drinks that were different and pretty good. Overall - I'd go back for the shrimp and the cake, the relaxed outdoor seating, and the service. Would try some of the other main dishes."
"Vacationing at Poland Spring Resort. Went for dinner at Cindi's Dockside for some steak and seafood. Very crowded when we got there. Restaraunt is residing near a large lake with some beautiful scenery. They also have boat rentals. We got in after a 30 minute wait not bad considering the crowd. Wife had unsweetened ice tea and I started off with Pepsi( love Maine for Pepsi and Moxie!!). Had whole belly clams for appetizer. They were very good. Different than our Ipswich clams. Clams were fed and battered with corn meal. Nice texture almost like cornbread . My wonderful wife had the lazy lobster pie which had 6 ounces of Maine lobster with butter and bread crumbs. Dish came with steamed broccoli and some large Onion rings. Lobster pie was amazing and onion rings were not bad( she's an onion rings expert). I went for the bourbon steak tips, which came with a nice garden salad and some really good garlic mashed. Tips were cooked medium and tasted good. Service was good. Final tab came to $120(including tip). Nice scenery good food and service. Definitely worth a visit if in Oxford Maine area!"
