"UPDATE: I’ve put 20k miles on the car since I bought it and the engine has now died and needs to be replaced. $3500 more down the drain. The car hasn’t even lasted 2 years and was $10,000. I bought a 2009 Subaru Outback from here, seemed like a great deal. In 6 months/ 6k miles I’ve had to replace a tire sensor, a wheel bearing, both calipers, and the entire exhaust from the catalytic converter back (this exhaust failure left us stranded on the side of the road in VT for 8 hrs) I sold new and used cars for 3 years, and definitely don’t expect a used car to be perfect and have zero problems. But $2000 in repairs in 6 months on a car that was $10,000 seems like a lot to me. Edit: I did reach out, I called 4 times and left a message and never heard back. I live over an hour and a half away so getting service done there isn’t super possible in the first place."

"Just got the head gasket, cv axles, brakes, and exhaust pipe done on my 09 Outback. My only regret is not coming to Rex sooner. When I brought the vehicle home and lifted the hood I could barely recognize the engine as the mechanic had it looking cleaner than when I bought it 7 years ago. They gave me a very detailed break down of the work done along with recommendations for moving forward to maximize longevity. They know Subarus inside and out. "I've been a customer for about a year now. In that time, Derek has done just about everything on my car, including a full performance engine installation. Brakes, axle shafts, clutch, exhaust, tires/wheels, etc., etc. Not a single issue with any of his work, he knows his stuff. Also, when you get the bill it's not a heart attack....very fair.
