"I don't know what you guys are complaining about. No one that works there has ever been rude to me, maybe cuz I'm hot. But I don't know...I go in there and mind my business and buy my items and leave. Maybe y'all should try it. This is my favorite liquor store in Boston."
"First off, their entire beer display has not a single price tag. I asked the owner if he had a price listing and he gave me a half assed excuse about not knowing how to enter them into the system. I then went to buy some cheap beer to make sure i wasn't going to get ripped off. When I got to his cashier he rung up my two beers, I inserted my card into the machine, and he SIGNED MY NAME!! I could not believe it I've never had anyone openly fraudulently enter someone else's signature and then take my card out of the machine and hand it to me. I left very angry as to his brazen illegal act. DO NOT GIVE THIS STORE BUSINESS!"
"This store has expanded and now carries a variety of craft beers. Since the expansion the place looks awesome with about 10 beer chests in the back! Definitely an upgrade for them. The employees were helpful too in picking something out. Definitely will stop by again when I go into the city....you should too!"
"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! My boyfriend and I went in to buy some beer and wine. We were in Boston celebrating our 3 year anniversary. We are both 21 years of age and from the state of Rhode Island. When we went to check out, the cashier looked at our licenses and then brought it to the back room without any word to us. She came back and said "Nope" while shaking her head. We asked her what was going on and she replied, "They're are fakes". We proceeded to tell her that she was mistaken and asked to speak to her manager. When we met her manager we assured him that they were real and asked how he came to that conclusion. I asked him if he had a scanner or any legitimate way to confirm his accusation. He replied " I don't need one". We then asked for our IDs back and he refused and said we could call the police if we wanted them back. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. We called the police. After 2+ hours of waiting, we missed our reservations and finally a police officer arrived. The manager pulled our IDs from his back pocket and handed it to the police officer. The officer informed us that it was a 5 year felony if they were fake. We told the officer they weren't and asked him to scan them. After about a minute or less, he came back in and handed us our IDs saying that they were indeed real. Instead of apologizing for what he had done, the manager then said "okay, well officer, I exercise my right not to serve them". We replied, "as if we would ever purchase anything from you after what you did". The manager replied "that's why they pay me the big bucks". Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect. I urge you to go ABSOLUTELY anywhere else."
"My ID is a CT adult learner's permit - while I can understand that this is one that some stores don't see often, is is a VALID ID and I have been served at many other restaurants and liquor stores around the city with no problem. Even when my age is in question (I'm young looking, I get it), a simple scan verifies it. Here, the manager insisted that it was fake, and I was shown a CT license as "proof" that they knew it wasn't real, despite the fact that a license and an adult learner's permit are two different things. The manager then apparently instructed the cashier to take my ID - luckily she was more understanding and gave it back, although obviously without serving me. First of all, it's illegal to take someone's ID because of the probability that you might be STEALING someone's real government ID. I'm surprised they haven't gotten into trouble for this already - or maybe they have and don't care, who knows. This place needs to get on the ball and have some actual means of verification that isn't solely reliant on a manager's shoddy guesswork. Luckily there are plenty of other places to go that recognize a real ID. Plus, the selection was laughable. Go literally anywhere else."
