Pilots Cove Cafe

"Interesting location with a view of the airport where you can watch many pilots landing their planes and walking in for a meal. The inside is spartan but clean and the waitstaff is friendly and efficient. The food was better the first time we were there, This time, I think they buried some of the overcooked bacon scraps in my omelet. We are looking forward to going back in the summer where we will site outside, have a meal and nurse a brew or two while watching all the flying activity such as helicopter flying lessons etc."

"A very unique spot right on the border of the Sanford Airport. There's literally plane parking and an entrance from the airfield. The drinks are refreshing, the food is exquisite, and their outdoor venue with an additional bar hosts a variety of musical acts throughout the summer. If you're a music fan OR A PERFORMER, the Runaway at Pilots Cove is one of the best summer venues around."

"This is an adorable place and I truly enjoyed my visit while attending Rockadile’s opening act for Ron Keel. The outside seating was quaint and the stage for the band was a bit small but seem appropriate. There is an inside restaurant as well and access to the bathrooms was very easy. I also saw a few portable toilets available as well. The outside bar seemed well stocked. The bar servers were friendly and attentive. Rockadile is a fun band with a very young lead singer(11 years old!) He sang every song well and the band sounded fantastic! Ron Keel was so personable and put on a great show! His voice is incredible and he is such a talented musician. I’m so thankful I was able to see him play in such an intimate setting. I highly recommend checking this place out! Being able to watch the planes come and go was also a lot of fun."

"3 of 5 on cost: Photos attached below. 16 for a turkey BLT is a bit much. Also $8 to add 5 oz of chicken on a salad is wild. 5 of 5 on staff: Waitress was cheery, helpful and efficient. Order was brought precisely as ordered. 3 of 5 atmosphere: The table I chose happened to have crumbs on it despite it being prepared for service. The floor also had food and debris on it. The aesthetic was cool and you could see plans taking off and landing. 4 of 5 food: The turkey was seasoned and the FRIES were great. The portion was fair and I took some home. The sourdough bread was tasty. The $22 salad with chicken was fine. Just greens croutons and some chicken strips. 15 of 20 = 3/5"
