"First time here- we got the linguica appetizer and I had a burger. All were delicious! The espresso martini was literal perfection. My mom had the Catalina wine mixer sangria and my sister has the chocolate martini- both looked amazing. We arrived before the rush and everything came out of the kitchen promptly. Best of all, the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and courteous. So thrilled this place is open and clearly doing so well!"
"I am replying to a message written by the owner regarding our group visit - I am shocked to see the reply from the owner. His reply to my friends’ review is full of HIS lies. She was accused of lying and he stated we were “the rudest bunch of people he has ever come across”. First, you NEVER even spoke with us so how in the hell can you call us rude. AND you stated, “it was clear from the moment they walked in the door, they were going to be that kind of table”. We were happy and laughing when we entered your doors and were just looking forward to a beverage and a nice lunch. It was a beautiful day and we were out for a ride on our motorcycles, hmm, were we being judged because we are “bikers”. We are a good group of professional people who travel ALL over our great state of Maine on our motorcycles eating at MANY establishments and we are always friendly and treated with respect and kindness, which we give in return. A smaller group of us had stopped previously and had a drink and enjoyed out time sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender. On this visit, my husband even helped your staff move a table so that we would have a place to sit. We always understand that as a larger group we will have to wait for food, what we didn’t understand was how 2 of our group of 9 received their meals while the rest of us waited an additional 30 minutes before receiving ours, that is unacceptable service in any restaurant. The poutine that I ordered as my meal was COLD, but I didn’t send it back or say a word about that, even though that too wasn’t acceptable. Never in all our travels have we experienced such poor service from a kitchen. Meals for a table of any size should be served together or at the very least much closer together than that. We have had much larger groups and been served ALL at once, in a much better restaurant. We didn’t order anything difficult, burgers and chicken sandwiches. As for the appetizers of pretzel bites, we should have been told that you were out of your dipping sauce before they were served, however we were not told until they were served, one in the group decided she did not want hers and sent them back, however I KEPT MINE, my husband and I ate them AND I PAID FOR THEM! They were not “comped” as you stated, hmm, again who’s lying. As for the gentleman who received the chair with maple syrup in it, it was not just a small spot, it covered a good portion of the butt of his jeans as well as down the leg, we all saw it, yes he was upset because he didn’t want that syrup to be transferred onto the seat of his motorcycle, hmm, another lie stated by you! As for the drinks, I won’t speak to the size of the those as I did not have a problem with mine and that is not anything I need to address; however waiting 15 to 20 minutes or more to even be asked for our drink order when at least 2 other “wait staff” were standing around doing nothing while our poor waitress was running around serving most everyone in the building, wouldn't it have been nice if they could have helped her. Being judged the minute we walked through your doors is poor business on your part, we are “bikers” but we all have professions and well-paying jobs, don’t judge us by our clothes and our motorcycles, neither of which are cheap. Even with the poor service that came out of the kitchen, your waitress was still tipped well, as we all knew it wasn’t her fault what was happening with the kitchen staff. For YEARS we and many of our friends have been patrons of the old Solon Hotel, we were hoping to keep this as one of our stops during the summer when we are out enjoying our beautiful state; however you have made it very clear that BIKERS are not welcome in your establishment and trust me when I tell you, that information will be passed on to our fellow bikers and they will be supportive of us and will not cast a shadow in your doorway. We have never been insulted by anyone as you have insulted us in your critique of us as customers. Our hard-earned money will be spent elsewhere."
"9 of us went there today while out riding. The waitress was ok. But the food took an hour to get to us. Two people at our table were served their meals but the rest had to wait. Not really the greatest service or food. Our friend sat on the chair and when he got up was covered in sticky syrup. Not very well cleaned. My chicken sandwich was dry and only enough chicken to cover half the roll. They did not offer anything off our sucky meals. The drinks even weren't the greatest and small glasses with a huge glass price. Horrible experience for us all. Not going there again."
"Great atmosphere, pool tables inside, staff is very friendly. The pretzel bites, pastrami sliders & charcuterie board are my favorites so far. Very reasonably priced drinks"
"The service was good but the food was terrible. Alyssa was our server and we have no complaints about her at all. Things started well with the buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer. Unfortunately, once the meals were delivered the excitement ended. There were five of us: Two of those at our table got pot roast. It was more like an extremely fatty, chewy cut of meat. The "baked" potato was a boiled potato that wasn't even cooked through and was hard. Corn bread was extremely dry. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was a mushy flavorless pasta with dried hard/fat chicken that couldn't even be cut. The "garlic bread" was just a "garlic knot" these are but the same. One bite was taken and choked down. Couldn't fathom choking down anymore. We also had one with the chicken sandwich and one with the chorizo sandwich. Both were dry as there was no sauce or mayo on them. They were also not satisfied with their meals. Both said these is sandwiches were just "ok" and each ate maybe half. We will certainly not be visiting this establishment again, extremely disappointing."
