Reviews of Mountain Village Farm B&B
"The set-up in the barn is simply gorgeous. This splendor is nearly matched by a beautiful moutain back-drop. The facility has ample room for parking and plenty of electrical outlets. There is a 2.5 - 3 inch step into the barn, so it is wheel-chair accessible but might prove a challenge for motorized chairs. The owners are friendly and accomodating. In addition to providing the facility for our function they provided other amenities and touched base with us to make sure we had everything we needed. This level of customer service really helps them shine. Things to be aware of: 1. No on site bathrooms 2. No water source 3. Access can be a little confusing as the business is located on Main St. while access to the facility is located on School St."
"Dog owners looking to stay here with their furry companions please read: My girlfriend and I recently stayed here with our pup for a night while vacationing in this area. Upon arriving at the time we had specified we would be in our previous communications, we were greeted by Lisa and her dog, who lunged at and tried to attack our dog upon entering the house. Not a spectacular way to start off a stay in an unfamiliar location! To boot, Lisa acted like we had done her a disservice and made a rude quip about being the last ones to check in when I tried to introduce myself and my girlfriend and break the ice from the awkward situation that had just taken place. Dogs interact in different ways, some don't like each other, most don't want strangers (especially unfamiliar dogs) coming into their home, and I completely understand that having lived with dogs my whole life as well as having worked at a rescue previously. However, it had not been mentioned ANYWHERE at all, either in the listing or our previous communications, that there would be a dog on the property, even with her knowing that we had our dog in tow. This lack of communication is very unprofessional and could have ended incredibly poorly, but luckily our pup wasn't injured, just shaken. Figured I'd make a note of it here since she has failed to do so anywhere else. The reason for giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the location and property really were beautiful, well kept, and clean. We felt very uncomfortable after the ordeal however, and are glad we only stayed one evening. Honesty is the best policy, just have to inform your guests so that they can plan accordingly!"
"Lisa was a very gracious host. We arrived late in the evening and found our room which was very comfortable. In the morning the fresh cooked breakfast was delicious. Our table looked out onto the farm and the chickens were running around happy as can be. Lisa gave us directions for a morning run along the river which was perfect. I could not imagine a better place to stay in the area than Mountain Village Farm."
"I came up to stay at the B&B for the weekend to ski at Sugarloaf and it worked out perfectly. Lisa, the owner and manager, is very responsive by phone and answered all my questions. The B&B is very quiet and the room I had was immaculately clean. Additionally the breakfast is delicious and location is great - very close to the stores and restaurants in town. As this is a farm, Lisa had a few dogs and cats but they were super friendly, nice to have around, and didn't bother me at all. I would definitely come back to stay at the B&B over the summer to do some hiking on the local trails. Thanks so much for the hospitality Lisa!"
