"THIS IS THE VERY BEST TAX SERVICE IN BROOKLINE/BOSTON area!! We have engaged the services of Joe Kirchgassner, owner of Taxaway tax services, located in Cleveland Circle, Brookline, to prepare our taxes for several years now. Other services have not even come close to the service that Joe provides to his clients, including us. He is on top of all the constantly changes federal and state tax laws, and in fact, found mistakes in taxes done for us before we even found Joe and he was able to resubmit our previous returns (done by a Brookline group who shall remain nameless and who we always thought was "reliable" and on top of things!)~ Joe got us even more refunds from years past. We did not OWE the money that the letter from the IRS indicated! Joe figured out that they owed US a significant amount! Amazing! Who does that?, Plus Joe makes himself available to his clients 365 days a year, to answer any questions about your tax situation, including updated information about any "life changes" you might be experiencing and he answers calls/emails/texts promptly, at any time and throughout the year! , I worked in a professional capacity at Brigham and Women's Hospital for 45 years and retired in 2015. I called Joe before I retired and he answered all my questions about tax implications and laws for my pension, IRA's, Social Security, healthcare, all of it! He is a really nice man, calm and reassuring by nature and does not at all mind a stressed out phone call when you receive something in the mail that might be confusing/concerning! Joe is also extremely patient and if he does not know the answer to a question at the very time you call, he does the research and gets right back to you. However, he usually does know the answer as he is a professional himself and stays on top of the constantly changing tax laws and forms. Joe works for you and pays strict attention to your finances and each individual situation that may present itself. I am a very computer savvy person but I want my taxes in the hands of an expert, I do not have the time nor do I want to follow up on every change that occurs in the tax laws in Massachusetts or with the IRS, which of course happen constantly. Why spend money and time on a computer program that may be easy to use but is not necessarily tailored to your needs? I can use any computer program but I would rather call a person who I know and who knows me, than some "tax professional", working on behalf of a software company who has no clue who I am or what my needs might be. Plus, I had total confidence in the aforementioned "company" I had used before and brother, did they mess things up for me and caused a lot of major worry and hassle. I also had a similar experience with a "tax accountant", also located in Brookline. Who needs that? I don't! Joe's rates are extremely reasonable/affordable and Joe absolutely knows what he is doing! If you are looking for the best tax prep service in Brookline or as far as I am concerned, in the entire Boston area, he is the one! I never write reviews. Never. But I felt I had to write this one. If you have questions and are unable to use a computer or scan documents, just make an appointment, bring your paperwork, meet with the very personable Joe and know that you are in the best hands possible. While Joe is busy with many clients at this time of year, he will go out of his way to get you a convenient appointment, it is so easy to get there by car, right on Green "C" line or by foot and the service you will receive it impeccable! DO not let taxes stress you out or use up your valuable time or cause you any worry/concern whatsoever, with those ever changing tax laws and forms.
