"When you tell them not to file because it doesn’t seem right and you want a second opinion, but they do anyways and still charge you the full $360. And when you contact corporate they promise you a “free amendment,” for literally screwing you over and doing what you asked them not to do. Such disgustingly awful customer service through and through."

"UPDATE: It's now June of 2020 and not only has H&R block ignore this review, but has not sent the lousy $100 refund the manager claimed she would send. Since the pandemic has occurred during this time, my boyfriend still has yet to receive his tax return. I highly suggest you go to a different company or even location, the people who work at this Bellingham store don't care at all about their customers. Horrible experience!!! My boyfriend went in on January 31st to get his taxes done. He decided to choose H&R Block considering the reputation they have had and their claims to provide accurate and professional help. THAT did not happen at all! The initial appointment he had went smoothly, although he spent $400 to get his taxes done, he was assured everything was completed and was done correctly. WRONG! After a month of nothing from the state or federal I encouraged him to check his status. He saw that the state was asking for his 401k form to be faxed over. He went in and they were accommodating to help fix it and while he was there he asked about his federal. He was reassured that because he filed for certain things on his taxes it could take longer. After another week he finally called the IRS to figure out what was going on. He was told that his health insurance form was never filed with his taxes and they needed it to finish processing his taxes! Worse yet, he was told by the IRS that once it's faxed over it would take 8 weeks to process!!!! He had all of his information when he went to file his taxes, I know because I personally put every form he got in the mail into a folder that he took to the H&R block appointment. He gave the form to the woman, but although she was nice she was also chatting away while filing his taxes and at this point it's obvious she DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION!!! He went back and even though no one else was in the office, the manager coward in the corner while my boyfriend was accused of not providing all the information at his initial appointment. He had to again sit and be asked questions he had already done and the woman clearly didn't know what she was doing since she was asking questions that had nothing to do with his situation. At that point my boyfriend got firm with the woman and finally the manager came over to help file his taxes correctly. Still, with all that he has gone through, there was still resistance on helping him since they were having conversations about how they can't fax his information over without the letter from the IRS or that they don't have the correct fax number, which he had and could hear every word they were saying which is extremely rude in my opinion. Turns out he got another $1,500 because they actually put in all the information correct THIS TIME. He told the manager that the IRS stated that it will take 8 weeks for this to process, the manager said no that is over exaggerating and he should be getting it within one to two weeks. Turns out, she LIED because now, after almost three weeks later he calls the IRS back and their representative told him that two weeks is a ridiculous expectation and he should expect to wait the full 8 weeks to process his federal tax return. The only thing he got was a $100 refund that he still hasn't received and even though he did his taxes early he won't get it until May!!!!! Completely acceptable!!!! NEVER GOING TO THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!!!"

"Ridiculous! Waited for over half an hour even thought we had an appointment only to find that the guy was completely incompetent. He was fumbling through the papers, mumbling and misspelling basic words when typing. I came to H & R block to make my taxes less stressful but I was so uncomfortable I picked up my papers and left. A total waste of time and I will NOT being going back."

"Absolutely terrible. First my appointment was double booked, but they had someone else open to "help". I don't even know if that guy knew how to spell taxes. I walked out after painfully watching him fumble around for an hour. Came to hr block not because I don't know how to do my taxes but because I didn't want the hassle of doing them myself. Plus it is always nice to get a professionals opinion. Unfortunately though the employee i was with made me so nervous with every mistake he made and just complete lack of knowledge. Just shameful... I was not with Wendy, but overhearing her with someone else it sounds like she knows what she is doing. If you don't get her just walk out or wait."
