"Fun casino - plenty of machines available and almost all new. Roulette table only $5 min! Chances to win extra free play while on machine! (I won $10). Could use a larger sports bar area and designated dining area. Right now tables are placed among gaming area. Didn’t hear too many big winners while playing -"
"Gate City previously Boston Billiards Casino ( not sure why the name change so fast after opening) is a very decent casino after adding more slot machines. I am a little unsure about one thing though. So I had the very nice girl at the players club upgrade my card to Black Diamond as they do that for you if you have the highest card from other casinos like in my case Mohegan Sun with the Soar card. Anyways I looked at what was offered to me with the card and 2 nights I believe it was at a casino they are partnered with not sure how it works really part of the lucky North Club maybe . I know that the cards are identical as far as looks goes and I believe levels too that's not important what was important is while traveling to Ohio I because a casino that I had been to in the past called Wheeling Island which is actually in West Virginia I went to their front desk and talk to the Players Club and they were denying any partnership with Gate City they had never heard of it I told them they were mistaken I was sure and not really needing a room I continued on my way back to Massachusetts. When I got back to Massachusetts and visited Gate City again I mentioned to the girl at The Players Club that I had been to Wheeling islands and they denied having any relationship with Gate City and that they wouldn't let me stay there she told me that was weird and I told her to take my name down and tell somebody in charge what had happened so she did but I had never heard back she had my phone number and everything so besides the fact that they don't care about their players that supposedly are the highest card holders I guess besides all that the casino is not too bad I know that Ben at the Players Club seems to go above and beyond doing all he can to be cool I should have talked to him about the incident I guess maybe somebody hire up even I don't know. After doing some research I see that the same owner owns both casinos so obviously I should at least be owed an apology maybe some extra free play but that would be Wheeling Islands responsibility to give me and I don't think that will happen but it's not Gate City that is at fault the more I think about it but I guess I never said they were I guess what I'm saying is it would have helped if I had a host because the girls that were telling me they never heard of it they asked me if I had a host that they could call"
"We’ve been going to this casino since the transition from poolroom to casino. It is an immaculately clean place including bathrooms, it has very friendly staff, and loads of games that keep updating! Very fun! I have one personal gripe from my most recent visit. I bought a beer for the first time this trip, and I have no problem waiting my turn, and being a former bartender I try to show appreciation and patience to bar staff, even with a wait. However- my bartender was short in manners and disorganized, and after charging me $6.50 for a draft beer, I paid with 2 $5.00 bills and expected my change. She said thank you, turned around to the register and never looked back. I did sit there a few minutes assuming my change would be put down, and then I’d tip. But she didn’t give me that chance. I paid $10.00 for my beer. Sad part is if she was a good bartender and didn’t blatantly swipe my change, she would have been tipped extra with Christmas coming. Bar protocol and good service- give the change back, say thank you, and wait for your tip to be handed to you or left on the bar, then you swoop in. Oh- and we can see you looking at us in the mirror…… Other than that- we love the place and recommend it constantly!!! Keep up the good job!!"
"I just love the place. Great place to chill with friends and family. They do have a great poker room with around 15-20 tables. All the pool tables have been replaced with slot machines, slightly disappointed by that. They also have roulette and Spanish 21 tables. During summers they open the outdoor bar, it’s a great place to chill. Tuesday and Thursday’s they have happy hour till 7pm, you can grab drinks at 50% discount."
