"I literally can’t even believe this (but I actually can at the same time) there was mice feces on the produce! I recall Ming’s getting shut down in previous years b/c of a rat infestation however not much has changed since “new management”"
"For the old times, I did shopping at Ming Supermarket very often. But now I choose C Mart better price better service. On 4/23, I bought 1.59 pound of smelt fish at New Ming Inc. where is located at 1102-1107 Washington Street, Boston MA 02118, Normally , the Chinese supermarkets only do the cleaning for the bigger size fish except small smelt. So I didn't know smelt was fresh or not. My mask was on. So when I got home, I had to do the cleaning smelt fish by myself. When I used the scissors to cut the heads and belly . They were outdated, expired, stinky , belly rotten, chest ribs bones had departed the fish muscle. The muscle was turned to liquid. They were expired for long time! When you touch the fish just like when you touch the melting ice cream. That wasn't the safety food for consumers! Because there are no health inspectors working in the weekend to the supermarket , they just placed the smelt outside of the fish glass where the customers can reach it easier . This is the violation too. The temperature was too warm for the seafood . It was very stinks! This New Ming Market has a group of 250 people in its WeChat group, so I posted some photos on the group on 4/23 and asked, whether I can return it? But they did not respond to my complaint..... …..never respond! Never say apologize to me. Then on Sunday 4/24 at 11:44am, I stopped by the supermarket customers service to complain. There was a person who in charge of the fish department standing by the customer service desk. I told him the fish stinky situation and his answer was “THAT’S IT!” Then I asked the woman at the customers services desk next to him. She looked at the man and she refused to refund me. After the arguments, then she asked me where was the smelt? I am keeping it cooked in the freezer home including the original bag which the price stickers still on for the evidence. Well, I live in Malden but shopping in Boston. Not convenient to Boston that often. I have been living in Massachusetts for 30 years. This Ming supermarket had changed owners many times. The owner or shares holders mostly came from the countryside of China. They don’t have knowledges to keep the food at the low temperature safe. They never put the expiration date on the fish or vegetable such as yellow leek $9.99 a pound. They are trying to sell everything as long as they can. They mixed the new items and old items to sell. For example, the steamers were at least a quarter dead and stinky. You can see the bad dead steamers is floating in the water . The good steamers is sinking in the water. That is how the consumers get sick or get poisoning so easily after consuming the unsafe food. Our livers got damaged too. Never choose New Ming Supermarket! Go C-Mart fresh food."
"The right place to buy fresh sea fish, fresh fruits and vegetables in great prices, for Boston. You can take your fish clean without extra cost. You also have the opportunity to experiment with the great and mostly unknown variety of the Asian food products. The only downside is the difficulty in communication."
"New management is defiantly better, floor clean and shelf well organized. Fresh fish and meat section clean and process on customer's requests. Some improvements needed, the plastic bag holders are mounted awkwardly. Checkouts are slow and unpredictable, for some and most fresh produces are not bar-coded."
"This supermarket is ok. It is not particularly dirty among Asian supermarkets although cannot be compared to Hmart. The product display is a bit messy with things here and there but prices are better than in H Mart. There’s a small parking lot across the street for shoppers. Again, this Asian supermarket is okay."
