"pricy, but good. fresh cut meats, eclectic variety of groceries, but I've never seen cottage cheese in the dairy section."
"Happy market is Awesome!! The staff is super friendly and I love to support neighborhood businesses. The prices and selection of products are great. It's amazing how a small store can offer everything you could need. I spent 10 dollars today and came home with 2 boxes of wheat pasta and a bottle of Newman's Alfredo sauce. What??!! The young lady at the checkout was also generous with the plastic bags and smiles!! Thank you Happy Market!!!"
"HAPPY MARKET IS THE BEST! They have really come through for the neighborhood during this pandemic. Let me tell you why you should start shopping here: 1. Just look at how they stock their toilet paper. (I have included a photo.) CVS hasn't had toilet paper since March. Neither has AMAZON, guys--but Happy Market on South St in JP keeps us flush with toilet tissue (pun intended) And now you know where to find your TP, JP. 2. Variety. I am a vegetarian. My husband is not. 9 times out of 10 we can find what we need. Their shelves are always stocked, their produce is bright & fresh and my husband LOVES their cooked food. They have everything from frozen pizza (vegan and standard) to pineapples to vodka..all of the snacks you could ever hope for, and many fresh ingredients for whipping up a fancy (or not) dinner at home. If you like beer/wine you will be happy with their selection. And--I just noticed a brand new, refrigerated case FULL of gorgeous-looking desserts. My guess is that the multi-layer chocolate fudge cake will sell out rather quickly. 3. Their prices are reasonable. I pay less for most items than I would elsewhere. I love the Goya products. Their prepared food is such a good value. And I love supporting a family business. 4. They have the BEST avocados. You should go here just for the avocados. 5. It is clear that the staff is family. Every staff member at Happy Market was wearing a mask long before most other businesses. The store also adapted quickly and erected plastic walls around registers to add another layer of safety for staff/customers. To me, this translates to the owners/management truly caring about the welfare of their employees while they all continue to serve our community during this crisis. This business cares and the comradery amongst the staff creates good vibes in the store for customers. With all of the uncertainty of the present time, Happy Market has not only been consistent, they've gotten BETTER. They continue to keep the store stocked FULL of what we want/need while also keeping up with rapidly evolving changes-- ie. social distancing/ safety measures and nationwide toilet paper shortages. I will continue to shop here and I hope you will too! P.S. The dessert case is conveniently located next to the entrance. Don't worry, you can't miss it."
"UPDATE: Happy’s has now officially expanded it size and product selection. It now carries produce, meat, a wide variety of milks, frozen dinners, etc. At this point I would consider it a mini grocery store. Happy's Market has recently taken over Fernandez Spa as the go-to variety store on this block. It almost seems like Fernandez's Spa just renamed and renovated its space, because the selection of stock and the latin music is pretty much the same as Fernandez's Spa. They are still under construction, so the end space will likely be 2x the size, but the lighting is much brighter and warmer and it feels like a pleasant neighborhood convenience store."
