"Nice and clean store."

"Unfortunately this store, over the last half of 2023, has gone through a stock-cutting exercise. The cheese department carries fewer varieties than they used to, discontinuing some of the best, such as Gabietou; the bakery department no longer carries Boston Cream pies (!); and other departments have skinnied down too. It's too bad; although we live in Charlestown we no longer go here for the specialty items that used to make the prices seem worthwhile; instead we go to the WF at Ink Block, in the South End, for those things. The Charlestown store has become more of a convenient (but high-priced) source for fruit, vegetables, and basic meats. I understand they need to maximize their profitability, but I wish they hadn't done this. Combined with the way the aisles now are often clogged by in-store shoppers filling online orders, it's turning into a dull, warehouse-y kind of place. Many of the staff we know well, and they're still knowledgeable and fun to talk to, but it feels like the air's going out of the place."

"Very clean and nice. Make sure to have Amazon Prime for more discount I also signed up for palm pay at the register which is very very cool to do and easier for future purchases"

"Most in-store shoppers were forced to leave their jobs in the summer of 2021, as a result of their schedules being changed from the normal set hours and days to the required use of an app that gave smaller hour shift selection in a free for all manner all posted at the same time on Fridays. Within 1 minute, sometimes seconds the normal reduced shifts of 12-6 and 10-4 were gone and in most cases, all shifts for the best days were gone. People who needed childcare or for whatever reason couldn't work super early or late shifts were forced to leave. even with the remaining shifts that no one wanted you would still not meet 20 hours a week. This was sad given that the normal scheduling worked fine and kept moral high, making it a great part time job. When you cut costs as a large company you should listen to your employees instead of following orders from above before putting them out of work. This practice has been identified in legislation to be illegal, however the bill has yet to pass. I'd find another option for groceries if you care anything about the ethics and treatment of employees from this business, it's also too expensive without an employee discount."

"one of my favorite whole foods locations !! they made my birthday cake and my sons. did you know you could preorder one ? thank you carlos for taking my order and helping me design it. also huge thank you to Ida! she designed my sons birthday cake and she really did an amazing job. they also always have a bunch of healthier snacks. especially for kids. i appreciate the fresh produce there. wish it wasn’t so pricey tho."
