"In 2015, at 22 I wanted to start investing. I had a chunk of change that I had very proudly saved and needed a little professional help to see it through as I didn’t know anyone with more advanced knowledge than myself. We seek professionals to help us achieve something better that we could on our own, but unfortunately that was not the case in this instance. It’s 2020, the market is soaring and I have actually LOST money on my investment due to his advice, inactivity and advisory fees. Perhaps the investment wasn’t large enough to attain valuable advice from him because it wasn’t an incredibly valuable account for him, but for me this was my hard work and sacrifices for many years. It’s actually shocking how poor his advice was, I regret using this advisor, and due to him my entire attitude towards Prudential has been tainted and my trust entirely diminished. I recall a conversation and a the plan we discussed which was entirely disregarded, as I look at the statements sent to me over the years that I am now am better able to understand I feel complete shock. It’s nearly inconceivable to have lost money in this market, it seems negligent. To think that in 5 years I was never “advised” of other options, perhaps one where I EARN money. If you’re considering this advisor, you’re truly better off doing it yourself with an taking an uneducated stab in the dark. Looking at what’s in front of me, I would have been better off letting the money sit in a saving account, in this market to say that is preposterous and ridiculous. I hope Prudential sees this review, they should be responsibly trying to assist young adults attempting to sift through the complex and over complicated investment markets and not be so careless."
