Reviews of Alexander+Roberts
"Unbelievable is the word I would use to describe our experience in Africa with Alexander & Roberts. They planned every detail with precision. Our hotels, lodges and tented camps were absolutely amazing. From the moment we stepped off the plane until they drop us off at the airport to fly home, every detail was taken care of. Everyone we met along the way contributed to this amazing journey. We were “On safari in Kenya and Tanzania”. The driver guides were so knowledgeable and friendly they made us feel like family. Africa is an unforgettable destination because of the kindness and genuine spirit of the African people. I will never forget this experience and thank Alexander & Roberts for making it happen."
"I booked the Italy by Rail tour with Alexander + Roberts. This trip was years in the making. They worked with us to reschedule after covid, which was great. And the trip started off really well. However, I paid an extra $950 for a day trip to Siena (with a guided tour), San Gimignano, and Monteriggioni. Almost $1,000 for one day because this was a once in a lifetime trip for us. We were picked up the morning of our tour and headed into the Tuscan countryside, and while our driver was lovely, we didn't get to visit any of the places we were supposed to and at no point during the day did we receive a guided tour. I immediately emailed our tour guide when we were dropped off at our hotel, and she replied to let me know she'd look into it and get back to me. When I didn't hear back from her within two days, I emailed her again for an update. I didn't hear back until 18 days later when a manager emailed me with a description of the tour we had booked (which was exactly as I said it was). She seemed to believe I was upset because we did not stop in Monteriggioni. I replied to let her know that I was upset because we did not go to ANY of the places we had paid to tour and we did not receive the guided tour we had paid for. I never received any response from the company. That was over two months ago. It's for that reason I'm leaving this review. It's not that our tour was screwed up. They're using local tour companies, so it stands to reason that sometimes miscommunications happen when coordinating with companies in a different country. The problem is A+R never even bothered find out where the mistake occurred or apologize for the fact that we didn't get the very expensive tour we paid for."
"I just got back from a trip to Alaska with A+R. It was fantastic! What an enriching itinerary! Mountains, culture, wildlife, sled dogs, reindeer, musk ox, and adventures – Wild and Wonderful Alaska had it all! Our tour manager guided us seamlessly from Fairbanks to Seward. She was on top of everything and took really good care of our group of 12."
"We never made the tour. We had so many problems with booking, we were dealing with the CEO himself at the end. Timely communication did not happen and promises made by the CEO and his staff were not kept. There are many small group tour companies out there, I suggest using any one of them besides this one."
"Just looking at my past reviews and realizing that I never posted on my wonderful experience w a and r. Everything said in reviews by others is echoed. They have your back completely! I had private tour in Mongolia in 2016 and small group of 6 to Bulgaria and Romania in 2019. They will even arrange first class transport at greatly reduced cost. Worth every penny!"
