Reviews of Thomson Safaris
"Tanzania you will always have a place in our hearts and we can’t wait to return. Thomson Safaris you do an amazing job. Your staff was exceptional and we couldn’t have asked for better tour guides. Seph and Remi were exceptional they gave us knowledge and their wisdom about the animals. It's been 2 months since we left Tanzania. There is not a day we don't think about the amazing trip we had. Thank you and until we meet again."
"Thomson Never Disappoints. This was our second safari with Thomson. They are an amazing company. On this safari we included Enashiva, which was rich in Maasi culture, and included a night game drive. It was a grand experience. Our animal sightings were awesome. Our guide, Onesmo, has a great gift for spotting. He has very keen eyes. I also appreciated his knowledge of animals and Tanzania. We saw a cheetah kill and elephants fighting. The big five were all spotted and many several times. It is very incredible to be inside your tent at night and hear wildlife outside. The food was delish, and having coffee brought to your tent was a treat. Our stay at Gibbs Farm was very relaxing. I experienced the best massages I have ever had. Also make sure you have room to pack coffee from Gibbs. Thank you Thomson staff for a fantastic adventure of a life time."
"It's hard to even put into words how AMAZING this trip was-it was honestly the best trip of my life. Everyone at Thomson took such amazing care of me-from the second I called to inquire about a trip from the moment I landed everything was perfect. The guides, the camps, the animal sightings-all fabulous. The trip of a lifetime, and I am already wanting to go back asap. Rwanda and Tanzania are magical places, and thanks to Thomson my dream of traveling there came true. I went as a solo traveler and although I was very nervous, all the nerves went away as soon as my first guide met me at the airport! I am also allergic to gluten and the gluten free food at the camps was delicious, went way above and beyond my expectations!"
"Where do I begin to share the incredible safari we had with Thomson? Our adventure began with a very informative, in-person meeting in their Watertown office with Carolyn. She explained in detail our itinerary options and answered every question we had…probably more than once. Her description of Thomson’s commitment to the country and people of Tanzania became evident right at the start of our trip. Halee and Angela were so patient as Covid and personal situations caused our trip to be re-scheduled multiple times. This resulted in us going to Tanzania in the Spring…which meant seeing babies around every corner. They were definitely one of the highlights of our safari. We will never forget ‘glamping’ in the Serengeti and how comfortable each location was. With a warm welcome from our camp hosts, to the well-equipped and very comfortable tents (complete with warm water bottles heating up the bed in the cooler locations), to the gorgeous lodges where we enjoyed delicious and traditional meals both inside and outside. And what an extravagant treat to spend a couple nights at Gibbs Farm in the middle of our trip. Definitely not glamping…but rather, a serene resort with incredible farm to table meals, secluded cottages and a beautiful pool setting…with grounds and vegetation that are stunning. Experiencing the Serengeti from a hot air balloon was well worth the early morning ‘Jambo, Jambo’. Did I mention just how delicious the coffee is!! As promised, we saw the ‘big 5’, we stopped counting at 60 lions, we drove ‘cautiously’ into the middle of thousands (literally) of migrating zebra and wildebeest, we were speechless by the number of elephants with their babies in Tarangire…including a mother with her one week old calf by her side. PRECIOUS!!! We never tired of seeing Giraffes, cape buffalo, hippos, hyenas, and being so close cheetah brothers standing just beside our truck. Our trip was beyond what we could imagine because of our incredible Guide. Nasibu was so warm and welcoming right from the first ‘hello’…he was incredibly knowledgeable, he knew exactly where to find animals, he was fun and funny, he was a humble servant to us in a variety of ways and he was so patient with all our questions. His passion for his country, the Serengeti, the animals, the Thomson company he represented and his co-workers, was evident throughout our journey. After 10 days, we felt that we had made a life-long friend. Our only regret in taking this trip now, was that we didn’t take it with our children when they were in high school. Thank you Thomson for making our ‘bucket list’ trip better than we could have ever imagined."
"For my 80th birthday we had an absolutely fabulous Thomson safari never to be forgotten with our 3 daughters, 3 husbands, & 2 grand kids. It exceeded all our expectations and provided us life long family memories in a totally immersive environment. Our guides we most knowledgeable, engaged, and anticipated our every desire. The Thomson team is extraordinary and their values and efforts for the Tanzanian people, the animals, and the overall ecological environment is world class and set the standard for the future of safaris. WE WOULD highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a truly life changing endeavor! Buz & Nancy Carpenter"
