"I am very sorry to write a negative review of The Dog House but I have attempted to email them first and have not received a response. I do not want to see others given surprise charges. I give two stars mainly because the dog’s haircut was very good and the facility is nice. I called to make a first cut appointment for my 6 month old Aussiedoodle. I told the person with whom I booked the appointment that it is her first and asked for a price. I was quoted a price of $70-80. I dropped her off and reiterated that it is her first cut. Upon pick up the groomer charged me $120. I asked why the difference and told that the dog was “difficult” This puppy is in no way aggressive and never has been. She is very friendly and docile. I assume she just had first time cut jitters and I assumed that an experienced groomer would have some tricks to help with this. I reached out via email five days ago and have not yet received a response. The facility is nice and the haircut well done but I am not sure if it is a good place to bring a puppy and make very clear how much you will be charged. $40-50 add on for “difficulty” is a huge surprise increase in my opinion."
