Reviews of Ronaldo's Ristorante
"Wife and I were with family celebrating our 23rd anniversary. We had a decent table and started with a round of cocktails for Wife , Brother and Ma. Coke and Coffee for Brother in law and myself.(designated drivers). We noticed the menu had dramatically changed since our last visit (Nov 12 2022) Have been going there for over 25 years. All the classic dishes were gone and the prices were very high for what you get. No tortellini soup, or Chicken Tortellini Tuscano. No side salad to start. No more home made pasta. Asked if they were new owners and they said yes. We ordered the white mussels w/ garlic. They were a little dry and served in a cup like bowl. Original owners left the mussels in the pan so the sauce would be incorporated. (Sad). Ordered Chicken Milanese which equates to arugula cherry tomatoes on a paper thin tasteless chicken cutlet.($32!!) Asked for a side of penne with a little butter on it ($9.99 and + $3 for sauce??) So $45 for a salad w chicken and side of pasta. We used to split plates and get mussels and we'd bring stuff home after. Not at new Ronaldo's! Note: We don't mind paying for pasta if it isn't out of a box... Shame, shame! Left hungry... Not good for Italian restaurant. Tried to salvage Anniversary celebration by getting dessert. Bad decision. Ordered Zabaglione, that was supposed to be berries in custard. It was berries in sugar soupy liquid. With sugar on bottom. Also ordered Pistachio Bomb which was supposed to be gelato encrusted pistachios. Got a piece of pistachio cake? Instead. Got the bill... $377 for five people not including tip. ($452). Calling yourself Ronaldo's is misleading to decades old customers. Should change name to Ronaldo Pseudo! P.S. forgot to mention the music. We'll miss Frank, Dean and the crooners. Was that disco playing? Oh leaking roof splashing on table next to us was another highlight. Had to be moved to another table near end of dinner.(fun!) Sadly another great restaurant has gone away. Will miss you REALNALDO's. Unfortunately nothing was really worth taking pictures of on this visit. Pictures posted are from a previous visit in Nov 2022. The faithful customers will remember. The new owners can look and learn."
"Hadn't been in a few years and I will say it was very good and just as I remember it being years ago . Our server was pleasant and informative. She suggested a nice red wine and also a signature cocktail. We both got rhe seafood and pasta in a nice cream sauce. The portions were huge and every thing was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend stopping In and enjoying this hidden jem ."
"Ronaldo's has been a staple for my husband and I since moving to the area. Gone are the days of building your own pasta, BYOB, and the food being served in skillets. The new ownership has changed everything. The service is still fantastic, no changes there. While the food is good, the prices have skyrocketed and the quality does not justify the prices. The pasta dishes are fairly priced but the appetizers are ridiculous. $20 for mozzarella sticks? I believe they need to redo their menu a bit. Two changes that are appreciated is the attention to the reservation system and the addition of the new cocktail menu. Their limoncello margarita was perfect."
"Decent Italian restaurant. It's a smallish restaurant but looks cozy inside. The hostess was super nice. I ordered the trio parmigiana, which is chicken, veal and eggplant Parm with a meat sauce on penne. It's a massive plate you could easily share. It also came with some soup, and a loaf of warm semi sliced bread. No butter though, unfortunately. The meat sauce was very tasty. Everything tasted fine, but if I'm being honest, I'm not sure if the cutlets were made fresh. I ordered it to go and they handed it to me about 10 minutes later, which seems awful quick, It took me about 15 minutes to sit down and eat it so I wasn't expecting the cutlets to have crispy edges anymore or anything. The consistency just wasn't the best. I felt like the cutlets may have been prepared ahead of time. I plan to go back and eat at the restaurant, see if it's better served at the table, and then edit this review after."
"The place is cute but was empty when we got there at 12:45 on a Sunday; just one customer sitting at the bar. (we didn't know they weren't open yet)They asked for our drink order and brought our water, then bread, then finally menus. Bread was fresh and amazing! Food came too fast, amusingly served in frying pans. (not a bad thing). We ordered "lite" size and it was still more than I could finish. (also not a bad thing) My date's cheese ravioli (was indeed the other thing the owner mentions in his reply) definitely store bought. The breaded chicken on it was moist and yummy. Roasted tomatoes and spinach also tastey. My breaded chicken also delightfully cooked but their was something different than expected with the sauce. Could have been the canned capers. Mushrooms we of questionable freshness. No clue if the languini was fresh or a high quality boxed kind. Same with the tomatoes. (I liked it well enough to eat most of it, we were very very full) Pricing was too high. We were happy we had the Groupon."
