"I visited La Candela on one of my trips to New Bedford. My husband and I were looking for a place to have a quick bite to eat. Came across La Candela as we were driving by. We decided to give it a try. I must say, we were glad we did. The food is outstanding. My husband had oxtails with white rice and I wanted to play it safe as I wasn’t sure what to expect and decided to get roasted chicken with some plantains. The food was delicious. I tried some of my husband’s food and vice versa. We also had empanadas and those too were delicious. The gentleman serving the food greeted us with such welcoming enthusiasm. He made us feel comfortable eating in. Although, the eating area needs some upgrades, that doesn’t impact the quality of the food. I highly recommend you trying La Candela’s Spanish food, you are guaranteed to return for more. I wish the owners lots of success and I look forward to going back when I visit the area again."
