Reviews of Toscano
"I’ve been there more than 5 times. They used to have a good service but last year we had several horrible experiences, probably because we are young or Asian? The first time when I went, they suggested us to serve the cheese board and charcuterie board together in a plate and there were several experiences I could admire at the time. But the last time when we visited, we had a number of disappointing moments even it was our friend's bday party. I don't even want to mention what happened but the experiences there were horrible that just made me think oh it's because we are Asian. I love their food so we kept visiting there wishing next time their service would get better which never happened. To be honest I don’t even want to give any star."
"4.5 stars. Came for lunch during Dine Out Boston with a friend, but would’ve been a solid place for a date and seemed like a lot of people were there for dates lol. Was $40pp after tip for lunch. The salmon crostini thing was fantastic overall. Bread was a little too hard, but salmon more than made up for it, and I’m not even a fish person. The veal pizzaola or whatever it was called was edible and forgettable. Tasted like they smothered a pork chop in pasta sauce and called it a day. The panna cotta however…wow. Will be dreaming about this. Just the right level of sweetness and so tasty. Maybe the high light even more than the salmon. Something about it reminds me of the cheap sketchy Chinese jelly cups that kids snack on, and made me nostalgic for a hot sec. Tried my friend’s tiramisu and it was decent, really intense coffee flavor more so than the dessert-y lighter style that most places do. But really, just get the panna cotta."
"The quality of food here is top tier! I am stern on quality, ambiance and service when it comes to the dining experience and this place MORE than met my every expectation. From sitting by the beautiful infamous window toward the front of the restaurant looking onto historic Boston (given the area it's located in) to observing the classic Italian decor and various art. My experience here was amazing. Highly recommended."
"Upscale Italian. Old School atmosphere with dark wood paneling and dimmed lights. I sat at the bar. Food was exceptional. Service attentive. I ordered one of the daily specials, the seafood grill. Everything was spot on: the salmon had just a bit of crunch on the outside, the grilled vegetables so good that I even ate the zucchini."
"Came here for Dine Out Boston, and absolutely love this place. The service, the food, the ambiance, all very worth it for a great dining experience. Even the portion sizes are great, as by the time dessert came over, I was sufficiently stuffed, but not overly so. The Rigatoni Toscano was steaming hot, but tasty enough that I just powered through. And the Pasta E Fagioli was perfect for cold winter days. Pollo Pizzaiola, what a delightful dish. The mouth feel was just exquisite, and the taste made me happy, in so many ways. Not to be outdone, the Bistecca Alla Griglia might just be the best steak I've ever had. The service was also very friendly and professional. Servers knew customer names, they were friendly and attentive, gave good recommendations. Tables were cleared out quickly and unobtrusively, so the dining experience was seamless and very enjoyable. My biggest complaint might be their selection of rum cocktails is lacking, but that's a personal preference, and in light of everything else, I can happily live with it. Looking forward to going back and trying out the rest of the menu."
