"I really don't know what is going on with this place. It seems like they have been in a downward spiral for the past two years. Obviously my kids love it here, we've had many fun family nights (regardless of quality) we live within 1 mile. The food quality (taste and quality) of the entries have been mediocre at best. The meats are almost always either dried out, lack flavor or are just low quality cuts. The flavor is always muddled. I used to enjoy the carne asada, but i stopped getting it along with steak or ground beef as due to there just not being any value, by value I mean not just price and quality of food, but caloric intake too, "why am i eating this" if it isn't great and if its expensive for what it is. The skirt steaks became greasy, lower quality cuts, more like a thick shaved steak the last time i got it a few months ago. I understand inflation and the pandemic was real but not so much now. That doesn't excuse food prep or what seems to be a lack of effort in general. We used to order takeout and salads and we stopped as it was just sloppy, thrown together or brown lettuce or underwhelming at best. The prices went up, the entrees went down. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo last weekend, and it tasted interesting, it tasted and looked like the sauce was Ketchup based. The rubbery cubes of chicken seemed pre-boiled before assembled in the red sauce, the rice and cheese was good, but it is rice and cheese. Their fresh salsa is always amazing. Fish tacos are good. They have eat in daily specials now which is a sign of things are not working for them. Generally speaking, I'd put the overall quality of the food, just slightly above the 99 restaurant or a lateral mexican version of the 99. For the cost of two meals $20-24 each, and a $22 premium large marg. I don't see any value and i groan when my kids suggest it. I suggested the other mexican place a stone's throw from here, but no go. Same pricing, much better food. Everytime I go here I am regretful and wish i went to one of the many other restaurants in the area in the same price range. The staff are always very nice and I think it's a shame it's been like this as it is a fun spot for the family. I will remove this review in a few weeks as I don't want to hurt the business. Photo is from my take home box of Arroz con Pollo 12 hours later. I'm not saying it's made with ketchup, but as I eat it again right now it's hard to not get that flavor."
"I ordered food online the portal was fully open and the phone said to order online. I showed up at the restaurant only to realize they were closed for a party. They have taken my money and I have called every day without being able to get my money back. What a scam. I have been a loyal customer for YEARS and now have been scammed out of a several hundred dollar order without any help from them."
"I ordered take out but I wanted to stay and have a drink, but couldn’t. Bar tender looked like that guy you wanna crack up laughing with. Food is no joke. Guadalajara tacos are legit. Big portions. Will be back again."
"Good food, nice presentation. I especially liked the refried beans in the star-shaped tostada. Our server and the other staff were all friendly and efficient. Enchilada trio (chicken mole, cheese, and beef) was very good. Fried fish tacos were good too. Salsa is good and spicy and the chips were hot and fresh."
"Late lunch (3pm) on Memorial Day. High level of service. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. He noticed I liked spicy food and got us extra-hot habanero sauce (yellow sauce next to guacamole). The michelada (in picture) was half lime/hot sauce. It was amazing. The tostada with barbacoa had a nice mild flavor and the empanada with verde (green) pork was tender and quite flavorful. The black beans were great. The only disappointment was the guacamole- which had an odd after taste-probably avocados from Peru (in our experience). The ambiance & décor were quite festive/happy. We left stuffed! and will come back."
