Frates Drive In

"I went to this place for the first time this year and I love the look that they have and how they have enough seating. I had a cheeseburger which was great and I tried my husband's fries and my niece's chicken tenders which were delicious also!!! My husband, sister and I wanted dessert so we ordered three fried dough sundaes once we were done with our meals. When my sister placed the order the girl that was going to prepare them had an attitude and was complaining that we ordered three. I was really upset but patiently waited over 20 minutes for them which was not a problem at all. Once we received them and opened them; they all looked like the picture posted which was upsetting because I think presentation goes a long way. I believe the girl should have waited until the dough cooled down a little bit since she was already not happy then it showed in her presentation. The dough was delicious but I can't really comment about the ice cream yet. No matter what I will try them again when they open back up next year."

"It's a '50s style burger joint. Complete with an Elvis statue by the ordering window. Lol. It's a great place though. They're specialty burgers on the absolute best. Definitely got to try their rock and roll burger It's bomb ! They don't skip on portions either. Here, you definitely get what you pay for. They also boast the cheapest lobster roll around. It's only $20 but then again you're only getting like 3 oz of lobster meat. Obviously like anything else the more meat you get the more money It costs. Still $20 for lobster roll is nothing to complain about. One of Taunton's hidden gems. Every time I'm in the area I make a point to stop here. Right on rt 138. Well worth it !"

"My wife and l went 2 times every week. Excellent food and frappes. Waitress were very nice and knowledgeable. The owner is very personal and keeps.a very clean place. We will miss Frates during the winter."

"Amazing fried food , the best ice cream . The staff were so kind and intelligent,which really goes along way. We loved Frates best part is we were about to take a picture of a Chevy on display and a man offered to take the picture. He was so nice to us , it met a lot come to find out he was the owner ! "Tried the lobster roll and chili fries. Both were on point. Quality lobster meat used in the lobster roll; not cheap but you do get what you pay for. Many things in the menu look delicious. Everything from the burgers, sandwiches, and huge ice cream selection will definitely have me coming back to try."
