Reviews of Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Wellesley
"I would definitely recommend visiting the Tatte Bakery, I wish I could rate it 5 stars but 4 seems right, here is why: 1. First, what’s working well: the atmosphere is airy and the kind of place I love having a coffee or breakfast in. Also, there is a large selection of baked goods along with gluten free options. The staff does a good job of getting people what the need given this place is busy!! Also, the food is really good, I was happy with everything we tried so overall this is what I think you would enjoy. 2. What could be improved: This place is packed! Clearly it’s an extremely popular place so that was to be expected, but it’s a bit of a free for all and that’s really hard if someone has a mobility issue, or if a family has small children. Finding a table takes a bit of effort and it would be nice if there was a better system to seat people vs having complete open seating. Also, there is not a lot of clarity on where to get supplies. I asked where to get water, utensils, and napkins and was told where to go. Unfortunately when I arrived there were no utensils at both stations. Another issue is it was not clear about how to leave tables. The table we eventually grabbed staff cleaned it up. We saw other instances like this when we were sitting. So given this was our first time we thought staff cleaned the tables. Thinking this I left a 20 dollar tip and our family rushed out because our daughter had a blowout. As we were walking out the door I noticed bus trays under the station with utensils but was still unclear if we use them or not. Some more instructions here would be really helpful. I think that would eliminate confusion. Overall 4/5 stars due to the confusion. I get it’s busy though and I would definitely go back. I feel the 4 stars are pretty accurate that Google reflects. Feel free to check out my photos to get a sense of the space!"
"Our last visit, we had a pretty rude barista. We loved the food, but we will not go back to the wellesley location. I hope the seaport location stays nice because our daughter really loves the breakfast sandwiches."
"I am sorry, but I don‘t understand this hype. We were here for breakfast and it was super crowded. After we ordered at the counter, we were looking for a table which took us a while and was really stressful. Then the food arrived and it was good, but the portions for the price felt like a joke to us. My cappuccino was lukewarm and really small so I got a latte from Dunkin afterwards. The bread was not enough for the food we ordered, so I asked a waiter if he could bring us more bread. He told us we had to go to the counter and buy more bread. Never in my life in no country did I ever have to pay for extra bread. The only reason for not giving just two stars was the quality and taste of the food."
"Absolutely love this place. The crisp decor, the variety of cakes and food was just amazing. Gluten free options galore that really made my day. The people who work there are just such helpful and lovely people. This is one place I am going to go to again and again. There is ample seating and the right place to relax, unwind and read a book in the corner seat and forget the world."
