"Fun as always - especially in downtown Wellfleet, and limiting attendance to 12K! We never miss it!"
"I will start out with the information I could not find anywhere: for 2022 the prices were 6 oysters for 15 dollars, 12 for 30 dollars, and similar prices for clams. All vendors were priced the same. The oysters and clams were definitely worth what was charged, though by number 40 I realized I may have overdone it. That's my fault, not anyone else's. So good. There was a children's area with free bouncy houses included with the ticket. You cannot abandon your child there or bring alcohol into the area, though I saw people trying their hardest. The place got crowded very quickly and would benefit from either adding a significant number of chairs and tables or having the event in a location where people can bring their own. It would be great if there were more tents as well. Also, it was not made clear that it was essentially cash only for most of the oysters. The parking and shuttle situation needs an overhaul. I understand the need to not overcrowd the town with parked cars, but only having 5 buses trying to shuttle thousands of people is not a great strategy. If you are curious about bathrooms, there were a lot of port-a-potties that lined the entrance, creating a hallway of places to take care of business. It was clear that they put effort into providing places of relief. Although, to the person who felt the need to rupture their colon all over the inside of one at 10:15 in the morning, find a doctor or never leave your house. Once it can get on the ceiling you need to contact a healthcare provider. Not the fault of the event, they do not know who has a credit card and severe intestinal issues. Just need that person to know the world does not accept this. There were two beer tents, but the line quickly got out of hand. Perhaps try a beer tent or more sellers. I'm not talking about a an Austin 3:16 beer truck situation, but a line of 100 people is a little much. Also, there are at least 4 breweries and wineries in the area, it was odd that they didn't have tents as part of the event. I will say that the vendors were all polite and the oysters were high quality. It is worth a visit as the area is gorgeous and there are other places to make a weekend of it if you want."
"My GF and I visited this festival in 2018 and had a wonderful time! Great experience!"
"I have been attending the fabulous Welfleet Oyster Festival for nearly 10 years. The oysters are truly the best in the World! There are creative craftmens/vendors sharing their works. Initially, I paid $2 to attend, then jumped to $5... now the entry fee is $10! Welfleet residence attend free. Not sure why paying a fee of $10 is reasonable... you still need to pay for everything from drinks, food and items."
"Great time, great food, great people and amazing oysters... What else can you ask for. It rained and we all still had a great time. Look out for chowder fries!!"
