"Exceptional dining experience! The delectable cuisine, coupled with the warm and accommodating staff, made my celebration at the spacious venue truly memorable. The extensive buffet menu showcased an impressive variety. Highly recommended for any occasion!"
"Visiting RI and Providence. We took takeout of food towards closing, food was very tasty and fresh and very welcoming staff. We picked up food towards closing and when the staff learned we were visiting have offered us to dine in even which was great gesture! Will be back for a full fledged dine in next time visiting RI Cheers :)"
"I had heard about Godavari years ago when they first opened, but had never stopped in. While I'd gone to nearly every other Indian restaurant in the area, (Rasoi, India, Kabob and Curry, Bollywood Grill, The Curry House...) I just never stopped in until this year. I figured that I'd try their buffet, so I lowered my expectations - I figured it would be good, but not great, and I was fine with that idea. When I walked in, I found an atmosphere that felt dated and worn - it felt like it hadn't been refreshed since it was Panda Garden back in the early 2000s. I was pointed in the direction of the seats and told that the buffet would begin soon. I took a seat and admired the dated decor. I felt like a few touches could liven the place up and make it more welcoming. As it is, it feels neglected and slowly falling apart. Then, the buffet opened. My qualms about the decor faded when I saw the vast variety of food and how well prepared it all seemed. One table held what were basically appetizers and sides - Samosas and Chaat were present and looked great. The next table over had various curries, rice, breads. and biryanis, while the final table had more biryanis and some desserts, as well as "milk shake" and chai. All of it was good. The samosas were flavorful and the Chaat was great. All the different little sides - vegetables and things like that - were tasty, though the names didn't stick with me. The curries were all good - spicy and full of robust flavour, they put their best foot forward across the entire buffet. The wide assortment of biryanis was amazing, and the desserts, especially the gulab jamun, were a welcome finish. I took 3 trips up to the buffet and wished I could have made more, but my stomach can only hold so much. My highest highlights were the chili chicken, samosas, chicken biryani, and of course the aforementioned gulab jamun, which didn't taste too much like roses like it sometimes can. The "milk shake" was a sweet, milky drink that was great for easing some of the spice. This was honestly some of the best Indian food I have ever had. While served in humble surroundings, the food really speaks much louder than the decor. I will certainly return. I feel like Godavari has become my preferred choice for Indian food in the area. I am absolutely stunned by how good they are."
"A decent buffet place in a non indian neighborhood which is rare to find. A lot of vegetarian options , only a few non vegetarian options. The place is a casual sit down place and the options are well made. Recommended if you like buffet / all you can eat places. The place can improve their decor and vibe though."
"For us, this was our first excursion into Indian food. We enjoyed everything- and we would definitely come here again. The staff was hospitable and friendly. However- if you are new to Indian cuisine like we are I would say be prepared to do some exploring and maybe get an unexpected dish on your table. Due to the language barrier we got an extra dish of rice and chicken- something different than what we had ordered. I enquired about it- could it be someone else's? I was assured by the waiter that we had in fact ordered it- and when he said the name it was something my wife had asked about but she had decided to go with something else. We decided not to make an issue of it and just tried instead- my favorite so far. So just an example of how you might need to be flexible but still enjoy yourself. Portions were more than ample."
