Mokban Korean Bistro

"Favourite Korean spot in Providence hands down! I went to RISD and over four years I must’ve been to Mokban dozens of times. My favourite dish is the spicy seafood jjampong, but they’re literally all great. If you don’t like spicy food, the duk man du is nice and hearty. If you don’t like fish, the tofu japchae is delicious and light. If you’re dining with a friend, the buddae jjigae and rice cake casserole are both so so good. The appetisers are also fantastic - I like the seafood pa jeon, the spicy wings, and the seaweed salad (my personal fave.) I would recommend getting the plum or yuzu hot tea to round off your meal. "I loved everything about my experience here. Servers were knowledgeable and attentive, the atmosphere was relaxed and I love the whole look of their decor. The food was amazing! Get the beef dumplings, trust me! The flavor was outrageously good! Can’t wait to go back."

"Took my mom out for lunch and we enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi and it was very tender. Love the ambiance too. My only suggestion is that my Mom got her order 10 minutes before mine so we didn’t eat at the same time. Would be nice to have been served at the same time."

"My husband and I were in the mood to try a new restaurant to eat and we discovered this one on Google Maps, and it had great reviews. We had a little bit of difficulty finding parking because it's a bunch of one ways with street parking. It was easy to pay for the street meter online with our phones and cheap. The restaurant has a chill vibe going on when you enter inside. We decided to dine inside since it was warm out, but you can eat outside if you want to, which is neat. Everyone was polite and courteous. We could tell our waitress was learning, but she was really sweet. The other girl training her was very patient with her and I liked seeing that. The food comes out in these big, spill catching trays. They were really cool and the food was amazing! We left full from soup! It was great. We also tried the KFC chicken. Sooooo good!! Everything was great except the strange homeless woman outside on the corner next to the restaurant. I know that's not the restaurant's fault, but she weirded me out with how she was acting. It was almost slightly uncomfortable having to walk by her to go inside the restaurant. Just a warning to anyone visiting or working in the area to be careful because you never know what people are going to do these days."

"A piece of Seoul in the heart of Providence. We were very impressed with the quality, service and heartiness of the meals we tried. Dumpling soup was well balanced, but fiery chicken is the one to go for if you are able to take in the spices. Ideal for children if going for lunch. We are going back there at the very next opportunity"
