"I've been fortunate enough to enjoy afternoon tea in a variety of different locations including London and New York. One of my favorite locations is in Denver at the Brown Palace Hotel and they charge almost the same price but One Bellevue is not even comparable. I hate to leave a lower review but this was one of the worst tea services I have ever had, especially considering how much I paid for it. It was disorganized, with poor service and just okay food. The tea was delicious which is why I gave it two stars. Specifics: 1. We were seated and waited 25 minutes for someone to come over for our tea order. Then it was like an infomercial for the tea company. Our server took an excruciatingly long time explaining what the teas were instead of just letting us order. 2. It was 45 minutes before our food was delivered. When we asked about it our server said she knew it was a problem and relating it's an ongoing issue. 3. On to the food itself. This is something I've never seen before and I've had a lot of afternoon tea. The food was not divided equally for each person. So there were not an even number of tea sandwiches. And the scones were cut into quarters instead of everyone having their own. The top layer of desserts were just a mix instead of everyone having one of each so we had to cut the tiny desserts in order to try some of each. The sandwiches were just okay, nothing spectacular but definitely not worth the price of a $49 tea. All in all this was profoundly disappointing and after I paid for six people plus a prepaid gratuity, I feel I didn't get my money's worth at all. I would never recommend this restaurant for tea at all."
"Delayed review but 5 star experience for Valentine’s Day dinner! The service was so great and staff was super friendly and attentive. We did the dinner + wine pairing and thought everything was excellent! They even had a little sign for our table since it was our anniversary which was a nice touch. I would recommend!"
"My wife and I both got burgers which were very good. The house salad was also good. They offer a limited menu during the week. The martini was disappointing. The smallest martini glass I've ever seen, for $15! They also offered a cool mock tail selection. Also very expensive considering"
"The Viking hotel is on the national registry of historic hotels. The exterior facade is absolutely stunning-beautiful brick building located in a perfect setting to walk everywhere. There is vallet parking which is included in the price so taking advantage of that is a must. The inside of the building is grand, big, old with a mix of new and the management takes pride in the way the building looks. The indoor pool and hot tub are large enough, though the carpet in the pool area is unsanitary and should be replaced with tile. The gym is a good size as well and all the recreational facilities can be used at any time. Aside from the view of Newport and the ocean from our room, this was the least impressive part of the hotel. The room was very tight and really uncomfortable once they brought a bed on wheels there for use as the third bed. Overall a pleasant experience and a bargain for three nights and I would definitely stay there again."
