Reviews of Tropical Barbershop
"Absolutely horrible my mom went in to get her hair done and came out with a hair style that wasn't what she wanted paid $120 for her to have a reaction to what ever they put on her scalp and to top it all off she lost alot of her hair when she took her hair out absolutely horrible"
"My three year old daughter said I have beautiful hair, after seeing my ✂️!!!! TIGHT!!"
"This isn’t my barber but Cladino cuts my 4 year old, level 3 autistic sons and my 2 year old sons hair and he does a great job. He’s great with kids and has a lot of patience when it come to them moving in the chair. He always make their hair look nice each time. Make sure you tip my man Cladino he a great man and a hard worker, you will not be disappointed. I haven’t been giving the boys hair cuts because I want to grow their hair out so they just been getting lines up but trust me when I say this man knows what he’s doing."
"Stylists are so rude and unprofessional. They’re very judgmental and condescending when you ask for things. I’ve had stylist stop doing my hair to go do someone else’s hair and complain and suck their teeth at me when I tell them my hair doesn’t look good or they’re adding too much product to my hair. Not worth the money or the extremely long wait time."
"My husband and I drove out to Brockton to find a salon to braid both of our hair. The salon we found had only one chair open and we wanted to be done at the same time. So I called around to a few spots and when I called Tropical I explained my situation to the lady and she coordinated with her other stylist to see if she could get us both in. They said if we got there within the hour they had a chair open for us both at the same time. We immediately left Brockton and arrived at their shop in New Bedford within 35 minutes. The woman even commented about how quickly we arrived. They then put me in the chair and immediately started to style me without even offering a wash/dry. My husband started to comment, but I told him it was ok anyway because I had washed and dried beforehand to save some time. However it would have been nice to have been given the option. My husband sat in the bench and waited the entire time I was being braided which defeated the purpose of our drive from Brockton to New Bedford. The woman who we spoke with over the phone took another client and left my husband to wait. I got two french braids with extensions and my hair came out beautiful so no complaints there. When my husband got in the chair he showed the woman two pictures of designs that he liked. It was two french braids with a design connecting the middle. He had to ask for his hair to be washed which she did with no problem. The design came out awful. The parts were crooked, the design was off center, the braids didn’t lay over each other correctly, it looked horrible from the back ( the two French braids came out perfect). Once we got in the car I took a photo to show him and he immediately called the lady who originally booked us but was too busy to take us and he texted her a photo of his hair. She said we could come back the next day and she would fix it. We drove back out to New Bedford the next day and she took out just the design which is what my husband wanted and left the two French braids, and it looked great in the salon. As soon as his hair dried there were giant flakes and pieces of glue covering the entire back center of his head from the gel being brushed out and combed back in without having been washed again. Once again it looked horrible. Needless to say 90$ later ( because of course , two drives to New Bedford later we were still charged for the design even though it had to be removed and replaced with a flakey scalp) we still weren’t satisfied. It was the most unprofessional service I’ve ever experienced in over 11 years of going to salons with my husband. There is talent there but it’s more like a mosh pit of self contractors than a unified salon with customer service."
