Friendly's

"I arrived with my two granddaughters around 7pm on a week night soaked from the pouring rain. We waited in the nearly empty restaurant to be seated for approx 15 minutes. When the host finally seated us, she asked if we there for a meal or just ice cream and we explained we were there for dessert. A small group of UMass college kids were the only other patrons and they were quite rowdy, yet had the full attention of the lone waitress. We waited patiently for another half hour, but we're ignored completely. The kids were wet and cold so we decided to leave with three ice cream cups from the cooler. I waited again at the counter to pay and again after some time a young man came to the counter. He asked if that was all we wanted and I explained how we had been planning on getting more but never saw a waitress. Without asking further he rang up the $5 worth of ice cream and paused for a tip. I was more than a little agitated but decided this was not representative of the many visits to this restaurant my family had made over the years, so I thanked him instead and drove the kids home. Upon reaching our house about 20 minutes later the kids sat down to eat dessert. The ice cream was freezer burned and the kids literally cried. I will never return to this friendlys again."

"I loved dining at this Friendly's. Julia was our server, and she was super attentive and nice. Friendly's is nostalgic. I'm glad this location sill has the traditional decor and in great shape too. The food was fresh, I had a large chicken salad, and the sundae didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend a stop in!"
