Reviews of Boston Common Theater District Garage
"Most backwards place. I have never written a review in my life, but this place really justifies it. Prepaid for a parking ticket at a pretty decent price. Upon arriving, every spot in existence is full except for valet and “reserved spots” that are marked with tow zone signs. After circling the garage about 4 or 5 times, there was still nothing. Thinking to myself valet was the only other possible location for the ticketed parking, I pulled into the valet lane to ask. Greeting me with screaming that it’s for tips only, I was fairly frustrated and attempted to leave only to find my QR code disappeared from my phone app. After waiting about 15 minutes for help once I pressed the button, a security guard came out and offered help. He was actually a decent guy and told me the valet was for prepaid parking as well and when I mentioned the man saying it’s for tips only, he told me they didn’t need tips and he would be writing the man up and explained how to get my QR code to reappear. After this, everything was fine minus how long it takes to escape. Mistakenly, I bought a ticket again 3 weeks later and to my surprise, this time I had no issues valeting and even got in rather smoothly. When attempting to leave, the man asked rudely, “where is the tip?” And I replied with what the security head had mentioned to me last time. He told me no and said it was for tips only. I told him according to his boss, this was not the case. He said ok and let me go on my way but as I began to pull away, he yelled at me “this is only for tips ever. Don’t you forget it. Park somewhere else!” As you can see, this is just wonderful customer service. If I ever by accident or on purpose park here again, I will simply throw pennies at his face if he wants a tip so bad that he can’t follow his boss’ own words. If I could give 0 stars, I would."
"My boyfriend and I booked a 2 day parking pass through ParkWHIZ, upon arrival our ticket ID didn’t scan so we pulled a ticket and continued to park after that we went to find an employee to make sure we weren’t getting charged extra $$ for parking which none existed. So we proceeded to press the help button until someone answered which when someone did, he was screaming and wasn’t listening to what we were trying to figure out. My boyfriend decided to try calling the parking garage ( as they provided the number above ) He asked if we were being charged because our ticket ID didn't scan then the man who answered the phone told us “it’s going to be fine bro” then hung up and my boyfriend called back and explained that he was in the middle of talking after the man said “ i’m busy man im at work I don’t have time for this.” So save your time and DONT PARK HERE. also it’s very small, smelly & dirty!!!!!!"
"Same issue as other reviewers. This garage was FULL and there was NO SIGN at the entrance indicating that. Total grid lock on all four floors as there’s no way to get out once you pull too far in. Luckily, it was so backed up that I couldn’t pull far enough in to get stuck. I was able to do a multi point turn and get out. Unfortunately, others had pre paid and got stuck in there without being able to park for hours. I don’t understand how the theaters associate with this place!"
"I have never written a review in my life but several days later I’m still angry. Pre-paid to park here to see a show at the Colonial. It immediately became clear there were more cars than parking spots. When I tried to get out of the garage I quickly realized they were valeting cars in the exit lane (you are trapped). I got super lucky that someone pulled out of a spot next to where I was stuck (they didn’t make it out for sure). I missed the start of my show and I know others missed it completely. Boston Police and Fire should take note of this place. It’s an accident waiting to happen. The Colonial should also take this place off their website!!!"
"Entered this parking garage today for a show at the theater as there was no sign indicating it was full and other cars were entering. Once in the garage, I was trapped in there for 2 hours. They were having cars enter the garage when it was FULL and then people were becoming trapped due to all the backed up and not moving cars. Then the valet guy was parking valet cars in areas where cars needed to get back to exit, causing more back up. I was trapped under there for 2 hours without cell service to call for emergency services. I missed my play and I paid a lot of money for those tickets. When I finally made it out of there, the office was empty, security was useless, and YOU MADE ME PAY TO LEAVE!!!! i didn’t even park there as it was full and there were zero spots available. I have reached out to the police and the fire department as this is a very unsafe practice and I will be reaching out to the parking management company as I expect a full refund of the ticket you made me pay to leave as well as a full reimbursement for my play tickets. WHAT A SCAM! And a dangerous one at that"
