Reviews of The Westin New York at Times Square
"Nice hotel in the theatre district. Easy access to many restaurants and theatres. Reasonably priced for Manhattan. Room was clean overall. Room was bigger than some others in that area. Room service for breakfast was excellent. Food arrived quickly, accurately, and hot. Definitely will stay here again. Note: it is Times Square so you can get noise from outside into the room but it is not unreasonable."
"Location to shows is excellent. Loved that convenience. Coffee in rooms. Spacious. They don't have feather pillows in the room - had to ask. Mattress was worn down and didn't work for a stomach sleeper. We stayed at the Westin at penn station and it's much better, just too far. We will keep looking for the perfect hotel here - I had hoped that if would be the same as the other"
"We had a family holiday here for 6 nights from 1 Jan. Only down side was check in as none of our rooms were ready, one at 5pm and then the next at 9:30pm! However the rooms are a great size, bed comfy and bathrooms clean. Fab location, easy to get to places and restaurants. HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR CHAMBER MAID AND KARL IN LOST & FOUND. MY SON LEFT ITEMS OF CLOTHING IN HIIS ROOM AND THEY MANAGED TO IDENTIFY THOSE AND THEY HAVE RETURNED HOME TODAY WITH THE THANKS OF THE FEDEX OFFICE IN THE HOTEL. We will definitely be back"
"Great location and very clean. Walking distance to Broadway shows and Times Square. Phone in room didn’t work so the following is all back and forth from the 22nd floor. - Service lacks common sense or focus on guest needs. 1)We checked in but couldn’t take our own luggage to our room despite offering ourselves. Waited almost 30 minutes for it to arrive so we could change and explore the area. 2) But the worst …on our third night, my goes down to front desk to request toilet paper. Again offers to take it to room, but no, again was told how they send someone. After waiting over 25 minutes, I went down. After arguing that I didn’t need anyone to deliver, that I just wanted to take toilet paper to the room. I was told that it doesn’t work that way, that they’d have to find someone to see what floor it was on. I argued back and was told by the front desk that there was a store down the street that sells it. Furious, I went and spoke to the luggage personnel at the front door in my way out. The gentleman offered to find someone but again said they’d have to find what floor toilet paper was stored. ?? I went two blocks and couldn’t find a store so I stopped in a pizza shop to grab napkins. When I returned, the luggage gentleman had four rolls waiting for me. He was nice and I expressed my gratitude. About 20 minutes after I finally arrived back in the room, staff showed up with two rolls. Well over an hour after the immediate request. I don’t know if this is a four star hotel, but it lacks half that in common sense to accommodate guests. BTW, the Foundry breakfast plates are $36, and a cup of drip coffee is $7. And yes, the street below can be noisy, but it’s Times Square NYC …that’s what I’d expect in this location. The rooms and location are great. I might stay again, but might stock up on supplies! :)"
"This hotel made me felt it is wasteful for my 10+ years membership, gold elite status, and prioritizing Marriott hotels every time for personal/business trips. Room: Room is noisy besides the elevator throughout the night. Some elevator buttons are not functioning. Door key is not functioning well within 2 days. Some towels not replacing during cleaning. Service: Housekeeping service is not thorough, many missing cleaning/water replacement. Hotel restaurant service poor, mandatory tips for takeouts. Food is meh. The Hotel manager is extremely rude and unprofessional, with no patience. Filed a compliant and their response is "we are doing our jobs". No other actions being taken, or any apology. I wonder if they truly value their customer. By reading the other comments I don't think Marriott is even taking care of staff's idgaf attitude."
