Reviews of Eastern hair studio
"I had great service here at Eastern Hair Studio! The hair cut was around 40-50 dollars, but my hair stylist Jason Zheng did an amazing job on my hair! When I showed him a picture he was very honest with me about how my hair would look and listened to me very carefully! :) I will definitely be coming back here"
"Be careful of this place. They do not create flattering hairstyles. It's like they are learning to cut hair for the first time with the few people that we tried, like they were novices. We can hear the staff gossip to each other in front of customers and this is not professional. If you are looking for a high quality salon with talented hairstylists, this is not the place for you. There are plenty of other businesses in Quincy and beyond to pamper your hair by people who know what they are doing."
"Based on some previous good reviews, I really wanted to like this place. I've been there twice now, first a hair appointment for myself, then the second for my mom. The first time I stepped foot in here, there was a strong cigarette smell. I don't know who it was coming from, but since it was only staff members out at the front desk and going in and out, I have to think it was one of them. I had Leo as my hairstylist and he is a pleasant guy, but I kept getting the smoky smell, so this was a bit off-putting. I didn't get the ideal hairstyle I wanted and asked for, but it was just okay, even after I did the expensive Milbon treatment. The boosters at home have made my hair extremely oily, so I have to fix that somehow. The second time, I booked a hair appointment for my mom with Jason Z. My mom had been hoping for a different style altogether, but all Jason did was even her hair out and didn't blow dry her hair all the way when he was done. This was very confusing, because when he was done, her hair was semi-wet and looked pretty much the same as when we walked in. We were able to improve it at home on our own by trying different combing styles, but this was a disappointing experience. I even helped her cut off some long strands in the back that Jason missed. Also, please communicate with the staff member named Amy to never ever make insensitive comments about any customer's age. I asked Amy how she shaped her eyebrows and told her my mom and I have been trying to learn how to use an eyebrow pencil. She blatantly said right in front of my mom and me, "At your mom's age, it's not a good idea to use an eyebrow pencil." This was beyond inappropriate and unprofessional. I told her "My mom is very young." We have since used eyebrow pencils to help shape my mom's eyebrows and they look beautiful and natural, unlike Amy's eyebrows, which look fake and pasted on. Ultimately, this place is 0 stars for us. It might be a good place for you if you are looking for a very basic haircut that does not take the skills of a master hairstylist. Everything felt very basic, from the skills to the result. Plus, my hair has never been this oily."
"Finding a good salon for Asian hair is difficult. I use to go to western hair salons and to be honest, the haircuts were not that great nor did it fit my profile. For Asian hair salons, I’ve tried many popular ones in Boston and NYC, yes they were good but do I really want to pay over $100 for a haircut? The skills of the stylist in Eastern Hair Salon are just as amazing and if not better and the haircut is only around $55—they wash, cut, and blow dry. For all the times I’ve come here for my haircut, I’ve seen JJ. He’s amazing and super easy to talk to. Thank you JJ!"
"First off let me say that I have extremely thick curly hair which is difficult to bleach correctly for any salon. BUT Leo did a phenomenal job and was able to protect my original curl pattern while also suggesting the perfect shade of blonde to compliment my skin and face. Regardless of your hair texture or what you need done I suggest visiting this salon. Everyone is very friendly and help each other out to ensure that you get not only quality results and service, but can also get in and out in a timely fashion. I will definitely be back. To everyone at Eastern, thank you so much!"
