Reviews of Veterinary Wellness Center of Provincetown
"Had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Giles. He was rushed, unprofessional, and demeaning towards me when discussing my pets issues, rather than explaining the problems he made it seem like I had hurt my dog on purpose. I was left with a really horrible guilty feeling after meeting him, which no pet owner should have to experience. Do not recommend."
"I give the strongest possible recommendation to Dr. Hutchings and all the staff at Veterinary Wellness Center of Provincetown. My dog, Nocci, had T-cell lymphoma and had been doing well for the 7 months since his diagnosis. Sadly, he declined rapidly a few hours after a swim at Ballston Beach and was in respiratory distress and apparent pain. I called around first thing the next morning to see if I could find a vet that could end his suffering ASAP. This vet initially offered us a mid-afternoon appointment. When I asked if there was any way they could fit us in earlier, they offered to see Nocci during their lunch hour, when no one else would be around. They treated Nocci and me with the utmost compassion and respect, even offering Nocci a final lick of Cheez Whiz, which he enjoyed right before being sedated, and gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye as well as a lock of his hair. Dr. Hutchings even followed up by sending me a very kind condolence card with Nocci's pawprints. The only things that kept my experience from being perfect (well, as perfect as possible under the circumstances) were that they charged me 30% more than they had quoted me on the phone, and I was in no condition to argue with them about it. They also told me his ashes would be available in a week or two, which was great because after that we were headed out of the country for 2.5 weeks. Turns out the crematorium in Sandwich picks up deceased pets from this vet only on Fridays. Since my visit was on a Friday, I assume that week's pickup had already taken place. Then they skipped the next week's pickup (crematorium falsely said the vet was closed that day). So poor Nocci ended up staying in the vet's freezer for an etended period as the cremation procedure finally took place 18 days after his death. Had I known about this delay, I would have gladly delivered him to the crematorium myself the same day he passed as I was headed off-Cape anyway. All that said, I know administrative mistakes do occur from time to time, especially these days when businesses are short staffed. And I remain soooo appreciative that they were able to end Nocci's suffering so quickly and kindly on such short notice."
"Dr. Sadie and her entire team, including Vicki and Jenn, are incredible. Due to years of abuse from before we adopted him, our boy Eddie has some issues (…picture tin-tin the dog, but with a muzzle) and everyone at the Veterinary Wellness Center of Provincetown is so good with him, as well as with me. Our cats also see Dr. Sadie and we could not be any happier. I live in Boston, as well as Provincetown, and Dr Sadie is far better than any other vet I’ve been too. My best friend took her dog, dexter, to see Dr. Jeffrey Giles and is also so happy to have found him and this practice. Communication, knowledge, absolute humaneness, and even the price are exemplary. I’m so grateful for Dr. Sadie and this practice."
