"Amari, who owns the salon, was so nice and personable. I'm awkward and never know what to say to stylists, but she is so easy to talk to. She treats you like you've known each other for years. The best part was that she explained to me what type of hair I actually have and how to treat it to keep it from looking oily so soon after I wash it. I'm 33 and no stylist has EVER told me how to take care of my hair. I will definitely be going back!"

"Unfortunately, this business does not put client experience first and does not respect or learn from client feedback. When I said that the haircut Amari gave my daughter looked really bad and I did not want her to continue cutting because I was afraid she was going to absolutely destroy my baby's looks, Amari took it as personal offense, not as client dissatisfaction she had to constructively work with and apologize for at the minimum. Instead of trying to somehow make up for the bad experience my daughter and I were clearly having, Amari kept vehemently asserting herself and repeating time and again that she was a competent stylist and that I didn't know what I was talking about. Competency does not need convincing or self-assertion - it shows in results and client satisfaction. It also shows in the way feedback is taken both in person and in online reviews. Calling out black female ownership status is just another way to self-assert that has exactly nothing to do with competency."
