Reviews of Melpet Farm Residences
"I have lived here for the 8 years that it has been open. The beginning of those eight years was great. Loved it but we have ineffective management. My building alone has been with out heat for 21 days the month of December. You can have a million people living in your apartment with you if you want because management won't do anything you want to deal drugs, go right ahead. You want to break and enter go right ahead. Management will not do anything about it. Thank God for Cameras and PD is right down the street."
"The apartments are very nice. However, there is rarely staff here to deal with issues that come up you can leave a message and someone may get back to you within a reasonable amount of time. There are all kinds of rules and regulations however the rules are never really enforced people are sent a letter to the whole complex to try and deal with issues which is not working. Staff has told us that they have to see the action. Many of us have installed cameras and the pictures still aren't enough. No one else should be living here that are not on the lease. This activity goes on all the time. Nothing is done. I could go on and on. However, maybe this will help others interested in living here. It is very sad."
"I love the horses they are all so pretty"
"I would say it’s easy on the eyes, great if it’s your last option. If you prefer privacy and respect, then this is not the place for you because the second you sign your lease you will be stripped of that. Management is decent on a personal level, but in terms of neighbors it’s more stress than its even worth and you will be left to deal with it, alone. Not your usual issues with neighbors though, I’m talking made up scenarios of things that don’t exist that result in 51a’s (that go unsupported because as I said, it’s made up) police calls over petty non illegal activity, and your neighbors even going as far as video recording you in your backyard looking for something to start... when you aren’t even doing anything. Some residents here believe that they are junior police department staff/think they are your landlord when they really just work retail and are on section 8 just like you. I would say my first year here was peaceful but I am sad to say I think I’ll never get those days back because of the lack of minding ones own business and as I said before, you are alone. You can’t defend yourself here, all you can do is be petty back. That’s distasteful to me, so instead maybe someone will read this before applying and really think twice. If this is your last option, than I’m sorry for you because that’s the boat I’m in as well and it’s depressing. I have never spoke to my therapist as much as I have since living here. Very aesthetically pleasing to look at, but at what expense? I rarely leave my house, but when I do... I know I’m being monitored; not by staff/management, but by my nosy, overbearing, imaginative neighbors who really over do it... constantly. I know I’m not the only one here who feels this way, I’m just the only one willing to come out and say it."
"This is a new affordable housing complex in Dennis Massachusetts. It's unusual in that all of its electric energy comes from lots of solar panels mounted on the roofs of the nine buildings. The complex was built on the grounds of a horse farm and a large part of land adjoining the complex is still a horse farm. So looking out many of the windows you can see horses grazing in their paddocks. The complex is very conveniently located in terms of nearby shopping, access to Route 6 and also a large park nearby."
