"Unfortunately, I cannot recommend The Summit to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable living environment. When I first visited and was looking to move they rolled out the red carpet and did a great job selling. I should’ve been more aware but they saw me coming a mile away. I was asked several times upon first moving in to leave a Google review, so I did. I had lived there for a very short time, and I was (at that moment I wrote it) very happy. Things quickly unraveled though, and I didn’t edit or delete my review for fear of retaliation from the staff while I was still living there. When I say things unraveled, I mean literally and figuratively. The rug was very cheaply made and even vacuuming it caused it to unravel. The rug was extremely damaged by the time I moved out and they tried to withhold over $700 from my security deposit. However, due to the fact that they failed to return my security deposit within 30 days, I was legally owed the damages which they withheld. They ignored most of my emails about this or would respond to some of it but not the part about the damages. When I told them I was going to file a small claims case I did get my money returned to me but the fact that it took several emails that were not answered or answered partially and a threat to go to court is unacceptable. They also blatantly lied about the dates the checks were written and sent. I fully believe they expected me not to notice or fight and that’s incredibly shady and unfair to someone who might not know better. Not only was management extremely unprofessional when it was time to move out, but they were also almost entirely unhelpful during the course of living there. I experienced an intoxicated person on a 4-wheeler tearing through the parking lot, almost taking my side mirror with it, fireworks being set off in the entrance to the parking lot which was right behind my unit, pet waste stations that were left full, and overflowing and so horrendously smelly that I had to keep my windows closed. Management did take care of this situation but only after I wrote a strongly worded email, which isn’t my M.O. I don’t like being “a Karen” but I had no choice. My toilet leaked so severely that one morning I came downstairs to find that my kitchen cabinets were raining. I had to throw away all of the food in the cabinets. The maintenance person who “fixed” it cleaned and sanitized my counter tops which was nice but when it happened again, I was left to take care of all of the sanitizing inside the cabinets and all of the counters. He also didn’t leave a dehumidifier and despite my best efforts, the kitchen smelled musty til the day I moved out. The third time my kitchen flooded the dishwasher backed up into the kitchen sink and when I called maintenance, I was told there was nothing wrong. The neighbors are loud and obnoxious which management seems to not notice or not care about. We didn’t have assigned parking, yet a certain resident would knock on your door if you parked in “her spot” and demand you move. Large groups of unruly, unsupervised children would knock on our doors, run away, and leave their garbage around my unit. The laundry room never had fully functioning machines and often when you would open a washer it would be full of stagnant, stinking water. The laundry is a paid laundry room so you’d expect it would be better maintained. The rent they charge is ridiculous and their defense is “well at the Pine Hills…” The Summit is not the Pine Hills. Not even close. If you’re desperate and this is the only place you can find, just make sure you document everything and know that you probably won’t get your security deposit back without a fight. I’m very disappointed with the way that things all went and wish I could’ve left a positive review about my experience but management's total disregard for its tenants and disrespectful way of treating them sealed the deal for me."
"I have lived here 12+ years. I have seen this place change hands a few times they have changed somethings I wish they didn’t But also added something’s that are great I meet a lot of people that come it looking around the property before they go to management to see if it’s a good spot for them I love it. Granted storage for being here this long is tight But you have an up stairs and a downstairs. So no one stomping on your head. And no one complaining your stomping on theirs. Side neighbors are great. We all have a little outside area which is awesome in the summer. Wish we got screen doors. We now have a pool. Awesome. And we are aloud pets now. Close to everything. Downtown 20 min walk to the waterfront. Hospital and police station 1 min away. Schools High school middle school and elementary. All less then a mile away And beautiful warm summer days, you are close enough to the ocean to smell the ocean air MOST residents are friendly I find the ones with kids and ones that have been there forever are the most friendly. When I do move. It would be my last move. To my house on the beach. But this place is a great mid way point to that."
"I have lived at Mayflower for a year and a half now. The management and maintenance are fantastic. They are extremely caring and down to earth people to work with in any situation. This is my home, and they certainly put the effort into making feel like a community. I have three children that have met wonderful friends. They play outside all day and they are safe. I was nervous moving here coming from a family based neighborhood. I really am pleased with the friendships both my children and I have made. They take pride in the appearance and upkeep of the landscaping. They recently replaced many old shrubs, put up new fencing and installed a fantastic pool. It's really a great place to live!"
"I have been living at Mayflower Village for 10+ years. Management is great! The property is always clean and maintained. If you ever need maintenance they come right away. I would recommend this property."
"I don't recommend this apartments to those who are moving in. Parking sucks. Tennants don't have their own parking spots. Neighbors guest allow them to park on tenants parking spots. Instead letting them park on the street. Management says their memo that they'll do a sweep for vehicles that park illegally. And I don't see towing companies doing rounds. If Mayflower management do this. There'll be disciplined. Winter time is worst. Plowing sucks. Snow are not plowed enough. Making us difficult to park & creating limited space to park. In our contract says no pets. And three of my neighbors have dogs. My neighbors smoke weed. It's so ghetto. Neighborhood is not so friendly. I don't see a lot of my neighbors saying hi. People are rude. Theres a stop at colonial terrace street. People don't stop. They just keep driving. And they drive like 20 mph. When you make a complaint to management. There's no action. They'll tell you they will but they're not doing anything. I had a bush in front of my apartment. They removed it. Ruined the nice scene. They said they're gonna put something in it. All I saw was they put something on the ground like a fake grass. And put one plant. They're just terrible. They're not eco or earth friendly."
