"Do Not move here. Its over priced. They run it like a jail given there recent spike in excepting the coupon. You can hear the apartment above and below you. There constant emails about property rules. They just changed names all the same management works there except Deborah. We moved out and had a lil balance and know they are refusing the security deposit back. Not to mention how unprofessional they are. They tried closing the pool this summer with less than 24hr notice. The property is made cheap. Don't let the chef inspired kitchen fool you. Its the bottom of the barrel appliances. They charge you water and sewer. HORRIBLE PLACE"
"When I moved in last year I absolutely loved our apartment. Grounds was upkept, leasing office was personable and friendly, building was cleaned every day by two wonderful ladies. Since the building got bought out, it has gone SO downhill. Even our delivery men have noticed! I can not walk our puppy without trash every single turn outside. Dog poop is also EVERYWHERE. They don't enforce the owners to pick it up despite the "dna registration". It's been TWO WEEKS and I have walked by the same alcohol bottles and cups and trash all over the grass areas. It's absolutely disgusting now. Also, the common areas are not mopped daily anymore. The tiles sections of the floors have sticky streaks that again, almost TWO WEEKS I have seen in the same spot. For almost 4k a month and supposed to be feeling like I'm living somewhere "luxury" they sure have gone downhill."
"As stated in other recent reviews. Just don’t waste time or money here. Tonight at 11:34 pm the main fire alarms went off AGAIN, for the 4th time in 2 month span. All evacuated until midnight, due to someone blowing smoke into a smoke detector as stated by the complex’s own maintenance team. Kingston police were here also around 8:30 for fights between tenants, which seems to be the norm now. We watched management at the pool the other day tell a group to quiet down and make their alcohol “not known” when it’s 100% against the rules in the pool/courtyard area. All you get are community reminders and no action taken against violators and if you speak your mind, you become the problem tenant. The complex is not smoke free, especially when their own maintenance supervisor smokes by the dumper on a daily basis(policy states no smoking anywhere in property) and don’t bother complaining about it due to your own or your own child’s health issues because management will suggest in writing that you move out instead of dealing with the many many issues here properly. Everything is swept under the rug. Our last management company at another complex tried this kind of management style, and ended up getting fired from a 30+ property portfolio, so speak up residents of Alexan Kingston, because enough voices and complaints submitted to the owners of the building, Trammel Crow, (Lincoln is only the management company, not the owners)will have to eventually step in and do something."
"BEWARE. Avoid this apartment complex. This has been by far the worst apartment living experience and as another reviewer noted, Alexan previously incentivized residents with $5 and $10 gift cards for posting reviews/ratings. Alexan claims to provide “luxury" move-in ready apartments that are "exceeding expectations" - this is far from true. Neighbors party late into the night during weekends and weekdays, especially from balconies on the courtyard side. This is absolutely infuriating as the same residents will continue to party past 2:30 am. Management does not seem to enforce quiet hours other than sending an occasional community reminder. Police are here frequently. There is also the constant smell of weed despite the complex being smoke free. To add to the frustration, the front doors which are “locked” do not even require a keycard to open which leaves the mailroom and hallway entrances totally exposed. Random people wander throughout the complex and parking lot at night. Other entrances and interior hallway doors don’t even register your own keycard. For over a month, management left a note on the exterior stairwell door informing residents that it was under repair with no update. The units themselves were poorly constructed and horribly insulated. These are cookie-cutter style apartments that were built with the cheapest materials. For a brand-new apartment complex that opened less than a year ago, there are constantly new issues that arise from the terrible construction job. My closet shelving system wasn't installed correctly which collapsed shortly after I moved in causing significant damage to my personal belongings. Earlier this year, I was out of town when I received a call that my apartment flooded due to a faulty refrigerator line. I returned to find industrial sized fans and dehumidifiers running on high power. Management initially told me that this was part of the remediation process and that the equipment should be left on until further notice. I received no additional updates regarding when the repairs were to be completed and my apartment was left in uninhabitable living conditions for over two weeks. My refrigerator is still defective from this incident and management has yet to replace or repair it despite numerous emails being sent. Instead of addressing current concerns, management brushes it under the rug and seems to only care about filling empty units. This has been a nightmare experience, and I will not be renting from another complex owned by Lincoln Property Company in the future. If you're looking for decent living experience in a quiet and safe community, I strongly advise looking elsewhere."
"This is the classic cookie cutter apartment. Slapped together as fast as possible and made to look “luxurious”. Many reviews come in at 5 stars as the complex pushes a $5 dollar incentive for good reviews/ratings and an additional 5 if you can name an employee. I moved in when it was brand new and 3 months later it looks like a building that’s been around for 5+ years. Don’t count on your unit have working outlets or level floors. Don’t count on a building with locked doors either as anyone in the area can waltz right on in! All doors are “locked”and opened with a key fob. Unfortunately this “brand new” building is already experiencing issues with its security measures. Very rarely do the fobs work and as a result leave you standing in the frigid cold; locked out of the building. Management has said they’re working on it but that seems to be a lie. However, if you’re lucky enough the door handles and closing mechanism will be completely ripped off! Leaving a wide open door for anyone to come on in!"
