"Beware of this place they're shady when it comes to getting your Deposit back (Jason) My daughter and son in-law didn't get approved for the apartment and has been trying to get the deposit back they was told by Jason to stop calling the office for it Its a good thing they kept the receipt as proof of payment."
"Universal Properties took over this complex in October 2016. So far they have been incredibly slow to handle snow removal and maintenance requests. I have also had two incidents with mice in my apartment. In the snow storm on Saturday, Jan 7, the first plows arrived around 6 pm, when there was already about 6" of snow in the parking lot. I called the "after-hours" number to complain twice in the afternoon, knowing that my neighbor and myself both had to go to work in the evening. The plows literally arrived as I was slip-sliding my way out of the parking lot. The sidewalks didn't get cleared until Monday. On February 15, it rained and then it snowed. In spite of the fact that this was exactly what was predicted on every newscast, Woodfield Commons did not do anything to pre-treat the parking lot or clear the snow throughout the night. The picture below was taken at about 8:30 am on Feb 16. That is a layer of snow over a layer of sheer ice. That's what we all had to walk over to get to our cars to go to work. Personally, I think that is shameful. Finally, the toilet in the master bath stopped flushing over the weekend. I immediately submitted a maintenance request on Sunday evening. It is now Thursday and I haven't heard anything through the maintenance website or in response to the follow-up email that I sent yesterday. So count 'em - that's now 4 days that I have been with out a toilet. Luckily, I live in a 2 bath apartment, but imagine if that was my only bathroom. And it took 4+ days to repair the toilet. Again, SHAMEFUL. Twice I have had mice in my apartment. I don't know where they come from, but clearly the buildings are old and it's easy for the mice to get in. Woodfield Commons responded by putting down glue traps under all of the appliances. Do you have any idea what it's like to have to fish a glue trap out from under the stove WITH A LIVE MOUSE ATTACHED? It is every bit as unpleasant as it sounds. When I reported the mice, I specifically requested NO GLUE TRAPS for exactly that reason, but Woodfield Commons just pursued the cheapest solution that created the least amount of effort for them. Seriously, this is a terrible management company. I know this is one of the cheapest options in the area, but THINK CAREFULLY before you sign on the dotted line. If I had known before I signed my lease last summer, I would have moved elsewhere."
"Worst place I have ever lived, even under the new management. I’ve been trying to reach the office for two months and haven't heard back at all. The complex offers “smoke-free” living, but constantly smells like weed and the pool has been broken for almost a year now with no signs of it being fixed. In addition, the “gym” and “clubhouse” is in the main office so if they have a potential tenant in there, or they don’t come into work (often), then you have no access to any amenities. Broken glass is all over the dog park area."
"Very disappointed! They don't fulfill their promises and they lie to people. Even though, 6 times I visited the management office, but still there is no result. And today was the last time because they lied to me and told me that they already rent the apartment. Last week they gave me an application to apply, and I realize at home that there are missing papers in the application. Anyway, I filled up and emailed them and they didn't answer to my email. Then I visited last Thursday, they gave me the full application and told me that bring next time signed application and deposit. Finally, I brought everything today (Monday) including a three-month rent amount in advance. And they told me that they don't have an available apartment, because they already gave the apartment. I do not believe these stories and I was so frustrated. Because I have been running for this apartment since last month. They are new management and they are worse than old management. Liars, Unprofessional, they don't respect client and they do whatever they want. I am so regret that I lost time with this management and I drove more than 100 mile to visit them every time. Because no one answer the telephones and emails. Very disappointed!"
"Been living here almost two years, our roofs leaked twice, the walls are paper thin. These complex’s have been raided for drugs before. pet friendly community, that is not maintained properly whatsoever. Terrible service, never lease from here. I am moving as soon as my lease is up. Maintenance is very lazy and unprofessional, and the individuals whom work in the leasing office are very rude."
