Reviews of The Adams at Hancock Village
"I love living at the Adams building. Such beautiful apartments and great customer service. Ivira was so helpful! Thank you CHR!"
"Pros: 1. Robert from maintenance is very great. 2. Great neighborhood 3. New appliances and very spacious 4. Common areas are kept very clean 5. Great club/common area 6. Fitness room is pretty good. I personally don’t like that the smith machine here can’t go low but otherwise it is great. Cons: 1. A/C is very loud and its main vent is in the bedroom (which is the smallest room). This means that the bedroom gets really hot or cold, while the living room doesn’t. 2. Awful Emergency Maintenance receptionists. Anyone that picks up isn’t friendly whatsoever and usually has a rude tone. Currently have a power outage and was provided no updates on the situation. Call twice in the last 12 hours and haven’t gotten a single update on the situation. For the cost of the place, you’d think there would at least be some form of update or notice when there is no power at all in the units 3. Limited parking. As more and more units are being filled up, there aren’t enough parking spots if you come home late. Edit: Added a star because we lost power again but management was on top of it and gave updates on the situation."
"Great at first, thought I was moving into a nice neighborhood coming from living in downtown Boston. The more people moved in the worse it got. Lot of residents who don’t treat the place well and management could care less. Was told one price for parking when touring then when I went to get a garage spot it was double the price. No vents in kitchen or bathroom, can’t cook without the room filling up with smoke. If you use want to work from home space they charge you extra for that, which I decided to do until they refused to put a printer to use. Outside of building is always a mess. The building looks very nice when touring, but I definitely don’t recommend moving here."
"Cannot understand all these negative reviews.. Moved here after living in the city for 7 years and absolutely love it. My apartment came in pristine condition with crazy overhead lighting, new large appliances, beautiful hardwood floors, and a massive kitchen with luxury granite countertops.. Not to mention it’s a lot of space for your money. The stuff I read about the water and loud AC wasn’t the case for me. Everything works perfectly! Sun shines right into my living room every morning and I couldn’t be happier about the place!"
"Overall, I can’t recommend. The good news: 1. The front-line team that manages the building is responsive and kind. They care about their work, and care about resolving issues for tenants. 2. The coworking space is awesome if you WFH. 3. The underground parking is also great. 4. The local elementary school is well-rated & easily walkable. 5. South-facing outdoor community patio is lovely on a sunny day. 6. The gym is well outfitted, but feels a bit like working out in the basement due to a shortage of windows (there are a few at the entrance, but they are largely frosted over. The bad news: 1. Our apartment has an extremely irritating 24/7 humming/buzzing noise. We’ve been told it’s the building mechanicals , which are located near our unit. Instead of fixing the issue, we were told we could move to another unit (which are smaller, and priced higher, and would require us to sign a new lease). 2. The AC unit in our bedroom (1 of 2 in our apartment) sounds like an 18-wheeler grinding its gears when it starts up. It sounds like a slamming door when it shuts off. We were told this is normal?! However our other unit operates quietly. 3. We’ve smelled pot when our windows were open, several times. We’ve also heard yelling / fighting. So, we prefer to live with windows shut. 4. The entry foyer, package room, and mailbox areas are small, tight. So, you and your guests will be wiggling around boxes every time you come home. 5. Our water supply is weak, and takes a long time to heat up. Our washing machine does not fill up properly. We have to run our kitchen sink for 30/60 seconds for the water to heat up. We were told this is normal and will improve as more people move in (the building is new). 6. Connections to mass transit are bad. 20 min walk to Bellevue regional rail station. There is a tenant-only shuttle that circulates to the T, the driver Chris is awesome, but this is only helpful if you catch the timing just right (so, very hit or miss). 7. We were offered an on-site storage unit in March. It’s still not ready, not yet built. So, we’re paying for an off-site unit."
