"Third time doing a review for this complex. I did one on move in, replaced it after a week and now I am replacing it again to be more accurate as the situation has changed. This location, like any, has its good and bad items so let’s start with the good things. First off, as with the original two reviews I left, the office staff are exemplary, kind and just all around good people to deal with. The building has an amazing aesthetic, especially if you enjoy history, architecture and engineering with the exposed brick, the old beams and structural metal work and the floors. The loft apartments are really more spacious than you would think. Sure the living room/dining areas are not huge, but the massive ceiling heights and giant windows give a feeling of a larger area. The amenities are better than I have had at any location I have lived and my children adore the game room downstairs which promotes them being active. The fitness center is very cardio focused but that is a standard thing these days, and you can get a decent workout in. The library area is a nice break if you want to get some work done on your laptop or IPad away from your apartment for a bit. The appliances are not top of the line, but they are in good shape, work well and get the job done and when it comes to appliances, that is what counts. To move to the negatives, and why there isn’t a fifth star anymore…. It’s the noise. The building may be very old, but the conversion to loft apartments follows modern apartment trends where sound deadening and the like are not the primary concern so you will hear your neighbors. The noise from the people above really is not as loud as I would have thought, with the wood flooring…. But you will hear the majority of their walking. Our noise issue came more from our neighbor with stomping, banging, running etc that really affected the quality of life in our apartment. Also, with the passing of recreational marijuana in RI, there was/is a strong odor that occasionally permeates the hall. These issues caused me to really give the location a low star rating on my previous review. But to the credit of the management team, there has been communication to residents about the marijuana smell issue, and I can attest that in just a day or so, there has been a very large improvement as we have not noticed it in the halls since. The management team also worked to communicate with our neighbors to help alleviate the banging as best they could. It is not perfect, but it is reasonable and tolerable for us. Without going into detail, they also all worked really hard to find options to help us make Tourister Mill our long term home for the next five years. So yeah, pluses and minuses like anywhere…. I wont lie, it is a little pricey…. But the market in the area is CRAZY these days so it really is comparable to the local market…. If you aren’t requiring dead quiet and if having some really nice amenities is what you are after…. It’s a good place to be"
"My boyfriend just renewed our lease for a third year and couldn’t be happier! Not only is the location stellar, good amenities, but also the front office staff has been welcoming and helpful to us since day one. Special shout out to Adam and Brittany who are always ready to lend a hand with whatever we need. We literally wouldn’t have a place to live without them!"
"Having lived in apartments most of my life, this has been the best experience by far. Sure there’s some quirks here and there, but when you’re in a building with almost 200 apartments there’s always gonna be. Maintenance does their best, leasing does their best, and everybody around is always friendly!"
"Where to start. Yes. These are "luxury apartments". Unfortunately they were built recently, which means the industry standard of poor construction applies! The brickwork and flooring are gorgeous, but a bad rainstorm will lead to your windows leaking. And destroying the whole lobby. And all the amenities. Leaving them closed for months. And then they'll raise your rent! Citing condescendingly "well everyone else is too, so." Even though you haven't been able to use the amenities for 90% of the time you lived there. Carpet is poorly installed. Ours was not stretched when we moved in, and they never fixed it. Pull at the corners of your carpet, theyll probably come up. Mystery leaks from upstairs neighbors will go unresolved. Poor quality paint on walls CAN and WILL stain if you look at them sideways. Absolutely no soundproofing, and hallways are loud and echoey (21st century apartment construction standard!). The "original mill flooring" means that the nails were sanded down, and the boards will shift and unsettle the nails, leading them to cut your feet. But hey. Location is nice. Bar next door. And the front desk workers and maintenance are great, minus the older shorter lady at the office who is the most condescending person answering the simplest questions. Also, don't bother with the resident Facebook group. It's all catty stay at home moms and their pyramid schemes."
"What a great place to live! We spent time looking at every Brady Sullivan property and knew immediately Tourister Mill was were we wanted to live! We spent time waiting and for the right unit and calling frequently for updates, Elizabeth and Leslie were always gracious and helpful during the process and since moving in. It paid off, we have a gem! The views of the ocean and the sunsets confirms we made the right choice. The entire team is friendly, efficient and kind. We're thrilled with our decision!"
