Reviews of Cabot Crossing
"My time at Cabot Crossing was up and down. I went through multiple property managers and a change in ownership. The new management though is truly the most professional and just the nicest people you will ever deal with. Dupree and Emily have already done an amazing job to change the culture and the perception of property. All the issues that the property previously had under different management have miraculously disappeared or gotten better. All my maintenance request were handle in a quick manner, the maintenance crew all seem to be much happier and are always working on something. I think the best is yet to come for Cabot Crossing as long as they keep Dupree and his staff in place. It's a good property that's going to get better. I truly enjoyed my time there."
"It’s truly unfortunate that the lowest rating option google allows is 1 star, as I would certainly rate lower if it were an option. If you’re anything like me, you’ll look at these reviews, and maybe consider giving Cabot Crossing the benefit of the doubt. The units you tour are well renovated, the people you meet are lovely, but once you get beyond the touring and application, they are in fact a nightmare to deal with. I was sure to apply as early as possible ahead of my expected move date. The application approval took over a week, which should have been the first red flag. It was a holiday, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It then took over a month of calling, emailing, and showing up in the leasing office in person to actually get a lease. The non refundable application fee discouraged us from abandoning the process and looking elsewhere. We tried to be understanding of the management transition that we were told was the reason for the delays, but really shouldn’t be overlooked. When we finally received the lease, we had to have pages corrected as they had other applicants names. Do note that the advertised rent prices don’t include parking fees, nor the “CAM” fee which seems to be equivalent to an HOA fee that they can raise at any point according to the lease. Not sure why these fees aren’t included in the rent price, but I imagine it’s to benefit from advertising lower rates. Fast forward to the Friday prior to our move in, a mere four days from getting the keys and days after being told in person that we were all set for our move in. We received a call that our lease was being cancelled, as the previous tenants had overstayed their lease and there was a significant pest problem that would take weeks to correct. No similar units were available, so the property broke the lease, leaving us to scramble to cancel the moving truck and utilities which were already set up in anticipation of the move. We then were unable to reach the property to follow up to confirm, nor did the property manager call as he had promised, so we once again had to show up in person to find out about the return of our deposit/move in costs. We were told 2-3 weeks by mail, which is already atrocious given the breach of contract. In reality, it took over a month and following up repeatedly with Two Cost Living, Cabot Crossings parent company, to actually receive these funds. So, if you are reading these reviews and still considering giving this property the benefit of the doubt, I wish you better luck than we had. Be prepared for dealing with poor management, excessive fees, unresponsive phones, and potential last minute cancellations. If you are fortunate enough to be able to move in without any of these issues, prepare for a hastily flipped unit between tenants, the potential for an unspecified pest infestation in either your unit or neighboring units, that is so severe it will take weeks to clear (the Merrimack building in particular), and a delay much beyond the 30 days required by law for your security deposits return. Truly a nightmare property that I would advise anyone to avoid. Oh, and after cancelling our lease and failing to return our deposit in a timely manner, their marketing team continued to email us about renting a unit."
"Living in Cabot Crossings is nice but a few things could be changed. Pros: Very clean area, beautiful pool and hot tub, buildings are nicely painted and landscaping is beautifully trimmed. The apartment by itself was freshly touched up when we first moved in and the one bed one bath we have is a perfect fit for us. Tiny but cute. Cons: The hallways to our specific apartment always smells like cigarettes and Marijuana, unfortunately. The lady above us is horrendously loud and seems to have no self awareness as to who is below her. And the hallways can also get quite loud. Sometimes the machines in the laundry room can be out of service and some of the dryers do not dry all the way. Washing machines can also get dirty. Inside the apartment the base boards were dusty and dirty and it seemed like it was a quick fixer upper. I have seen much better. For first time movers such as myself, I would say it’s a nice place but things need changing. For permanent residence, I would not recommend."
"Absolutely DISGUSTING complex. COCKROACHES IN EVERY BUILDING. Was told that they cannot get rid of them but they are trying to control them. Was fumigated back in January and by June they were back. Lowell Board of Health has been out MULTIPLE times. Spoke to someone from BOH and he told me that it wasn't his first time here and he always gets the runaround by the leasing office. Some buildings have mice on top of the roaches. No cameras on property grounds other than leasing office which they spent money on to renovate yet leave the rest of this place looking like hell. The grounds are not kept up, landscapers come once in a while and barely do anything other that leaf blow dust and dirt around. Sketchy people doing sketchy things at all hours, pet feces not picked up by dog owners, dumpsters are always disgusting, discarded furniture left, people who don't live in the complex drive in and dump their trash, furniture, chemical waste etc and then just leave. Snow removal is a NIGHTMARE in the winter time, IF the plow trucks even come, they plow your car into its space. All these five star reviews sound so generic and FAKE. The rent they charge is outlandish compared to what you actually get from this place. There's NO storage other than bedroom closets and small utility closet OUTSIDE. Packages get stolen all the time; the leasing office started a package room and never once notified anyone that their packages would now be diverted to the leasing office instead of the actual buildings. Horrible place. You can find something better somewhere else."
"''BEWARE" DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! this place is DUMP!!. Current management's focus is making sure the main office got a face lift and looks nice while the halls of the buildings are disgusting!. They smell and the walls are all marked up. As for the parking lot, it's a great place for DRUG DEALERS AND USERS. Constant drug traffic and disposed needles/spoons on the ground. If you need something fixed, don't even bother calling maintenance,. THEY NEVER SHOW UP. Took them 4 months to replace my bedroom screen that was all ripped up when I first moved in. constant bugs and mice coming out of the walls. Got a ceiling leak in bathroom that got worse as time went on. Maintenance came "1" time, painted over it and said it was fixed. 3 months went by and it got worse. I approached mgmnt multiple times and no one ever came to fix it. I ended up paying hefty to break my lease and the day I moved, the ceiling leak STILL WASN'T EVEN LOOKED AT!! To this day I am STILL waiting for my Security deposit refund. I ended up calling "SOLVE IT 7" and as of now they are gathering my information about this issue so they can approach Cabot Crossing Management. I can't wait for this to appear on channel 7 news. Anyone having the same issues, PLEASE PLEASE reach out to "Solve It 7" channel 7 news. Too bad this review sight doesn't give you the option to rate "0" stars."
