"This company should not be allowed to rent their property to people. They pretend to "care" about Maynard, but all they care about is their bottom line. If you ask them to repair things that are too difficult (like fixing screens in windows so they can actually be opened or blocking access for pests to get in) they will ignore you. They use bully tactics like threats and physically moving your property out of their units by claiming "it looks abandoned". They also have 2 Board of Health violations against them. They get friends and family to write fake reviews for them on Zillow to try and preserve their rating, so no one knows how despicable they really are. They talk badly about their tenants and claim it is the tenants fault that there are issues. All the "construction" and repairs they do are done by the elderly owner and his daughter, who are not even licensed to make such repairs. They illegally charge for water use when the property is not sub-metered. They keep the rent low and have no security deposit because they know all their properties have issues. If you currently live in one of their rentals and are having issues, I urge you to contact the Board of Health."
"Please do not be tempted to rent from the just because you want to live in Maynard, it is NOT worth it. Parking issues, mice and other pests, ignored repair requests and not to mention that they are rude and will threaten you with homelessness. I know 2 people that had their belongings moved outside, with no court order or eviction notice."
"Been renting for about 2 years and have never had any issues. I’m actually one of the newer renters in my building. My neighbors have been here for years! Maintenance is preformed in a timely manner, turn around for communication is within Massachusetts standards, the owners are pleasant to work with, parking is easy to deal with, location is excellent for commuting into local hubs and overall I have no complaints. I would recommend renting with this company."
"I rented here for 18 months or so. Overall they keep the buildings fairly clean, that’s the only good thing I have to say. When I first moved in to 42 Summer Street, it was brand new construction. They were going for a premium studio look to attract young professionals. This was all a facade, they used the cheapest possible materials and construction methods and it really began to show, after just a few month the finish on the floor began to peel up everywhere. I repeatedly asked them to fix this and had to wait 6 months until it was convenient for them. There were some scheduling issues once they finally agreed to fix it due to a work trip I had coming up and they then said that I missed my window of opportunity and could not provide me with a date for repair. This is when I put my foot down and told them I was going to withhold rent payment until the issue was resolved. Jim promptly showed up at my door and threw a temper tantrum like a child. He was screaming at me and insulting me in the hallway and it was extremely unprofessional. nonetheless they fixed the floor shortly after that. Only when his bottom line is in jeopardy does he take any action. His daughter, Jackie handles all of the administrative stuff and of course he has her under his thumb so don’t bother going to her for help."
"The actions of this company should quite frankly be illegal. If you rent here, make sure that everything is in writing. If you call maintenance, you will likely be ignored for months on end. The moveout process was a nightmare including less than 20 minute notice when giving tours. All of my belongings were gone from the apartment before my lease was over because it "looked like I moved out" even though when asked I gave a specific date and time that the apartment would be cleaned. The word luxory is a joke when describing these apartments. The pipes back up constantly, the windows are not tightly sealed, the heat does not work, and laundry costs are dispicable when considering what this apartment costs. I hope no one else is desperate enough to take one of these apartments and if they do, start looking for a new one as soon as you can."
