"My college-aged daughter and I had a great experience here. We recently relocated from the Boston area and I was nervous about finding just the right place. We visited half a dozen local salons and we liked the vibe here. It has a modern setting with live plants everywhere, and for sale, too. Ariel and Sierra were our hairstylists. They were careful about asking enough questions to make sure we would receive the hairstyles/color we wanted. They listened carefully. We were more than happy with the results and will make this our go to salon. An added benefit is the salon uses organic, all natural products."

"My experience at Wild Roots was everything and more. Along with being the most aesthetically pleasing place I’ve very seen , there is also a huge selection of plants and products you can buy, so you can even come in and look around even if you’re not getting your hair done. So cool! I had spent all spring and summer of 2023 bleaching my hair, and it was not the tone I wanted and it was starting to get damaged/the roots were growing in. This fall I decided to turn my hair to the professionals to take the next step in my hair journey . I wanted to keep the brightness of my hair but tweak the tone and I also wanted my roots to blend and to be able to go a little while and still have them look good. I never could have dreamed that everything I wanted for my hair would come true and MORE. Thank goodness I found Sierra because her work is so seamless and gorgeous. She took such great care of my hair and thanks to her creativity and hard work she made my hair a masterpiece! She made my hair sparkle and now I feel like a princess! The minute you step into wild roots you feel so comfortable and beautiful! Everyone who works there is so so nice. The environment is so beautiful, filled with lots of plants, local art, handmade gifts, and a thoughtfully curated hair product collection. I am excited to try their organic tanning come winter in New England. Rachel is an AMAZING stylist. It's like she can read minds. My hair has never looked more natural, stylish, and modern, and the various colors I've gotten done have all looked amazing!! All of the stylists are very thoughtful in their approach with clients - nothing is rushed, they truly care about you, and will go out of their way to make sure they are providing the best, and most appropriate, service to each unique person. "Love Wild Roots Portsmouth! I have had several different services here over the years and have always had a great experience. I specifically come back for curly cuts but have also enjoyed color services, scalp scrubs, blowouts and even trusted them to give me bangs (which I have received tons of positive feedback on… curly bangs can be a risk)and my husband loves the men’s cut. The curly experience is tailored and includes a combo of dry cut for initial shaping and wet for finishing. Since curls can get pretty dry they have moisture masks available as well. I always get tons of chunky layers for a nice round shape. I usually get diffused so that the walk out able to see what my final shape is. Great line of products to maintain at home as well. In my experience I always walk out with a great cut and style and then when I style myself later it is so easy to still have that just styled look. Love my experiences here."
