"I lived in these lousy apartments 2020-2022 when I was in college. I would give Cliffside negative stars if I could. Cliffside is unprofessional, rude, and inconsistent. The owners, property management, and account management are untrustworthy and inaccurate in their work. I was wrongfully billed multiple times and had to reach out for it to be corrected. Save yourself the trouble and move across the street to North 116 Flats or The Social Apartments instead."
"This complex is the worst place I’ve ever lived. I was exposed to dangerous chemicals for days from them trying to fix my tub. They left my window open and unlocked for over a week while working on my bathroom while I was away that they still did not fix. They would not fix the knobs on my shower for over a month leaving me exposed to mold in the adjacent closet. I couldn’t shower for days. I called twice about off leash pitbulls that approached me and my dog several times. They did nothing. The pool was closed for almost half the time it was meant to be open but no rent was given back. The tennis courts are cracked down the middle making it unsafe to play on. They took $500 out of my deposit for two spots on the carpet after TWO years of me maintaining the place. I am likely moving forward with legal action. If you can find another place, please do."
"Would avoid living here unless you have literally no other options. Also be wary that a good majority of the recent positive reviews are bots. Click on the commenters and shockingly they have no post history. Genuinely not surprised this newer management company uses shady tactics to pretend the place isn’t an overpriced dump."
"Cliffside provided wonderful support and has great staff. They were quick to fix any issues I had with my apartment and were very kind. The Queen from the corporate office was also very reliable and professional."
"I lived at Cliffside for 1 year (June 2021-June 2022) and wanted to share my honest pros and cons for anyone looking into moving here. Pros: Really beautiful area. There are hiking trails behind the apartment complex, which is really nice. -About 10-15 minutes from Hadley, which has a lot of shopping and restaurant options. -There are 2 washers and dryers in each building (however, it seemed that at least one or both were broken for the last 6 months that I lived there). There is a laundry mat across the street. -The complex also includes a pool that is nice when it's open. -The maintenance staff is great. Cons: I mentioned the issues with the washers and dryers. I ended up hauling my laundry across the street for the last several months I lived there. -the apartments themselves are not very nice (at least not the one we rented). It was very outdated. The kitchen cupboards where unfinished wood that looked decades old. The kitchen floor was sinking in in places. Not a ton of storage space, but you can rent a storage area in the basement relatively cheap, which we did end up doing. The kitchen is very small and only one person can really fit in there at a time. We also noticed a lot of mold around the window areas, which we tried to clean off as much as we could. The carpet was old and had a bad smell to it. Hopefully, they are working on updating some of the older units. -We were on the 3rd floor and had 3 mice that we knew of get into the apartment to later find them under furniture when we moved out. -As others have mentioned, the hallways often smelled and people are sometimes very loud (slamming doors, talking in the hallways), which is worse since the walls and doors are pretty thin. -We started not getting hot water and were told that this was because we were on the 3rd floor and no one could figure it out. We had to start planning our showers for when we were more likely to have hot water and sometimes just had to deal with a cold shower, which was a huge pain. Something else that isn't necessarily a pro or con is that there are a lot of people at the complex that hang out outside throughout the day and night. People would have parties and be drinking in the middle grass area, which is fine but just something to note. As a woman, I felt a little uncomfortable going for walks by myself, especially in the evening. There are also a lot of little kids that ran around seemingly unsupervised. People drove fast through the parking lot so that made me nervous. The leasing staff was great when we moved in, but about halfway through our lease a new company purchased the property and it seemed that all the staff that we knew no longer worked there. The current management company is hard to reach and I don't know that they were ever really in the office. Very long review, but overall Cliffside served its purpose as a temporary place to live for a job. I was very happy to move out, though. They were also raising the cost of rent for those that renewed their lease, and I wouldn't have been willing to pay more for what we were getting. I think the apartment is well-suited for college students, which seem to make up a large amount of the residents there."
